Martinus.cz is an online store with one of the largest offers of books in the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic. Since May, it also has its iPhone app, which offers everything you can find in the online store. You can buy not only books, but also movies, puzzles and games.
Martinus.cz is primarily an online bookstore with more than 120 titles, but you will also find an extensive database of movies, audiobooks, and board or computer games.
The iOS application was developed by a Slovak seller, in a simple interface you can order the desired title within a few tens of seconds, no matter what it is. In the sliding panel in the middle, you can choose which assortment you want to choose from (books, movies, etc.), after which a few selected titles will appear on the top shelf, similar to the App Store. You can also browse by news, bestsellers, upcoming titles, or search for works by category.
When you click on any book (movie, etc.), you will get a complete overview of it - title, author, year of publication, price, shipping and description and details of the title. Similar titles can also be displayed, and there are buttons for adding the book to the basket and adding it to the so-called wishlist, where you can save items you want to buy in the future. If you also have na Martinus.cz account created, this list will be synchronized with the web interface.
The entire database of the store can be searched either by entering the name or the author, but the application also has a barcode reader. He takes a picture and, if the given product is available at Martinus.cz, it is automatically displayed.
As for shopping itself, it is very simple in the mobile application. Among other things, you can create an account directly in it, if you don't have one on Martinus.cz yet, and then you just choose the delivery method, address, delivery option in the individual steps of the order and complete the order after a final recap. Everything is quick and easy.
All in all, I can say that the Martinus.cz iOS application has succeeded and for every user who owns an iPhone and shops in this store, it is certainly a welcome helper.

I wanted to write the exact same thing. I don't understand what's the point of an app that only finds half of the content being sold.
As we wrote the answer above, it is not that simple. For example, the American bookstore Barnes&Noble has 2 applications, for e-books it has a separate application. We are not planning that for now, we will see in the future.
Please answer the question: Does this not violate the terms of the application in the App Store when they allow you to buy directly, without App-in Purchase? It is strange to me that there are almost no similar e-shops in the AppStore.
Otherwise, I like the app, but this is confusing me...
Thank you for your opinion. We are not aware of any violations of the terms of the App Store. Apple has approved the application, and Amazon, Barnes&Noble, eBay, etc. have similar e-shop applications.
Thanks for your opinion Kamila. We do not defend ourselves by publishing shortcomings, on the contrary, we will be very happy if we receive constructive feedback :) It is not so easy with e-books. The purchase would work directly in the application, but their download to the iPhone would have to take place via a computer. Or the application would also have to have reader functions, DRM verification, etc. We do not rule out anything in the future, but we are not planning to do so in the short term.
