Apple products in themselves are not cheap anymore, and if you leave the selected piece wrapped in a box for several years, then they literally become a rarity, the price of which attacks astronomical sums. Just one of these has now appeared on the eBay auction portal. Specifically, it is an unboxed first-generation iPod that can be purchased for almost half a million.

"A thousand songs in your pocket." It was to the accompaniment of this – now legendary – phrase that Steve Jobs introduced the first iPod less than eighteen years ago. It was an iconic device that helped Apple revolutionize the music industry. The iPod, along with iTunes, represented a huge change to the established system at the time, and Steve Jobs succeeded in ushering in an era where music would be sold online in a big way.

The first music player from Apple offered 5 GB of storage, a battery life of up to 10 hours and had a two-inch black and white LCD display, a FireWire port and, above all, a scroll wheel for easy one-handed operation. The base model was priced at $399, which unsurprisingly made the iPod one of the most expensive mainstream players at the time.

If the iPod offered on eBay finds its buyer, then its owner comes up with an amount 50 times higher than what he bought the player for - namely $19 (just under 995 crowns). Similar pieces appear only sporadically, from which we can conclude that there will really be only a few packaged first-generation iPods. A similar one was last offered in 460 and was already sold for 2014 thousand dollars then
