At the beginning of November, Apple measured in its App Store that the latest iOS 9 operating system is running on two-thirds of active devices. In the last two weeks, the adoption of iOS 9 increased by five percentage points. A quarter of iPhones, iPads and iPod touches remain on iOS 8, and only 9 percent of devices run on even older systems.

The latest operating system for iPhones and iPads has seen a meteoric rise. You'll get it in no time installed by more than half users with supported iOS products and continues to perform well.

According to Apple, this was the fastest adoption of a mobile operating system ever. iOS 9 is doing much better than last year's iOS 8, which was plagued by labor pains especially in the beginning. At 64 percent, i.e. roughly the same as iOS 9 has now (66%), iOS 8 only reached at the end of December. At 68 percent after the new year.

iOS 9.1 is currently publicly available, which at the end of October brought dozens of new emojis and improved the Live Photos feature.
