Press Release: The Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic has launched a new communication channel for informing the public about the global COVID-19 pandemic. It's about a community called Together against the coronavirus, which works within the popular communication platform Viber.

The goal of the community is to regularly inform about current events during the global pandemic of COVID-19 and to bring citizens important information regarding current developments in the Czech Republic. Community will function as an integral part of the campaign Together against the coronavirus and will thus complement the current communication on the website www.koronavirus.mzcr.cz/spolu-proti-koronaviru/ and other social networks.

Anyone who has the Viber application downloaded on their device, i.e. smartphone or computer, can join the community. If he does not have the app downloaded, he will first be redirected to Google Play or the App Store, where he can download the app for free. The community will publish not only posts related to the current situation and government measures regarding COVID-19, but also various advice for the public on how to take care of their health during the pandemic, and videos and other materials will also be included. Community members will be able to participate in polls on various topics and express their opinion.

For up-to-date information, we recommend that citizens continue to monitor the website and social networks of the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic, special pages of the ministry on the coronavirus including application to the occurrence of disease in the Czech Republic, as well as websites and social networks of other departments, possibly also pages State Health Institute, World Health Organization whether European Center for Disease Prevention and Control. The World Health Organization has also launched a chatbot to inform about COVID-19 together with Rakuten Viber. It is currently available in English, Russian and Arabic, and will be launched in the Czech language in the near future. Chatbot is available on this adress.
