Since 2009, when Angry Birds saw the light of day, the bag of games about operants seems to have been torn apart. Even the Czech studio Mingle Games could not resist the established trend and in May 2012 released a game called Save the Birds and that's the same for both, currently the most extensive platforms – iOS and Android.

You enter the game as one of a pair of aliens, Mooney and Pinky, who have come to save a bird species from loggers. The player's job is to catch the falling eggs, of which you can carry a maximum of two, and throw them into the safety of the nest to your bird partner. Forest animals will help you with this: squirrels, spiders, owls, hares, but also a kind of magical wind and holes in trees. To advance to the next level you need to save at least 6 eggs, 10 if you are pedantic.

The first version of the game has 20 levels. Unfortunately, everyone is in the same environment, with only the distribution of trees changing. At least you have a choice between day and night. Apart from the classic ones achievements you will not play any bonus levels.

Save the Birds relies on simplicity, and that also applies to controls. You control Diana comfortably in the forest with your thumb at the bottom of the screen. You also have a gauge with which you throw the eggs into the safety of the nest - but it is not very accurate and could use calibration.

When it comes to connectivity, Save the Birds is more than good. It is up to the player to choose from Game Center or Open Feint. The novelty Kiip is also integrated into the game. It is an American company that offers a system of real rewards for achievements in the game. What are the rewards? These are primarily coupons and vouchers from various companies (a free drink at Starbucks, a discount on cosmetics, etc.) Kiip is a revolutionary system for placing advertising in such a way that it does not interfere and is still there. Another gadget is the heyZap social network. It is used for sharing statuses about games and for discussion. Unlike Kiip, you have to install heyZap.

Starting with the team led by Vlad Spevák, the team set itself an obstacle just by deciding to develop a game for iOS and Android. The competition is huge and small studios like Mingle Games will only survive or succeed with a truly original idea. The game has potential, the idea is not bad at all, but it lacks bonus levels and a greater variety of environments. On the Mingle Games Facebook page, there have already been reports of an update that will bring new animals, levels and bug fixes.
