In March, Microsoft pleased all Mac users when for OS X released the first preview the new generation of the Office 2016 office suite, which gradually improved. Today, Microsoft released the first sharp version of the software, and the new Office is officially available. The new version of Word, Excel and PowerPoint came after almost five long years and brought a number of improvements and a modern look corresponding to current OS X standards. If you want to use the latest Office package, you will need an Office 365 subscription.
Office 2016 applications have indeed made great strides over the previous generation of Office 2011 and offer much of what users have been hoping for. Of course, full-screen mode support, Retina resolution support, and the like are included. In addition, Microsoft adheres to the "cloud first" credo with the new Office and thus offers the possibility of teamwork on a document in real time as well as the integration of its own OneDrive cloud and competitor Dropbox, with which the giant from Redmond concluded a certain form of cooperation.
Office 2016 for Mac comes with a total of five applications for Office 365 subscribers, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and OneNote. All apps are finally modern counterparts of their Windows version, which is something Mac users have been clamoring for for a long time and something we probably wouldn't have expected from Microsoft until recently. On the other hand, functionally, Mac applications are still behind those on Windows in some respects.
An Office 365 subscription costs 189,99 crowns per month or 1 crowns per year for individuals. There is also a home subscription that can be used on five computers, five tablets and five phones at the same time. For this, the family will pay 899 crowns per month, or 269,99 crowns per year. If you don't want to pay a regular subscription, Office 2 will also be available for a one-time fee. However, this variant will not be available until September.
Still without Czech.
Damn Czech, but a lot of basic functions are missing.
and Access is nowhere.(
Hmm, I want the package version, I have no use for Office 365 :-(
It will be in the fall.
A full-fledged counterpart to its window siblings? That is a very strong statement. For example, such an outlook still does not reach below the windows or up to the ankles. Absolutely essential functions are missing. The view with the task panel in the right part is missing!!! Quick search for e-mail according to the currently selected e-mail using the right button (in Windows, I can display all e-mails from the given addressee with one click) The panel with quick actions is missing, so it would be possible to continue.
And in the case of outlook, another statement from the article is not even true - it cannot be displayed in full screen mode.
Yes, it's a big improvement from office 11, but as I say, it's still not quite the same, and thanks to the fact that I work in both systems, I still miss some functions (for example, in onenote) on Mac OS...
Even with Word and PowerPoint, it is no glory. The improvement stopped halfway.
But pssst hush...I'm watching us illuminati.
How to uninstall the preview?
It doesn't offer any update :( The latest version is 14.5.2
The installation package is 1,16 GB in size, but the installation takes a whopping 6,43…
It works very quickly on the new MacBook 12″ GOLD and the new one with Retina support. I tried the new PowerPoint, where we have a photo presentation in 4K resolution and we played it on a large monitor via HDMI via Apple Adapter USB-C and animation effects in the presentation without a single lag or slowdown.
So I personally don't know why anyone should voluntarily use this. The interface does not fit into the OS X environment and is unnecessarily complex. I work in Pages, Numbers, etc, and I wouldn't go back to this even though I tried it
Because you need Excel for macros. For example…..
But that's the only function
Macros suck - outdated vba; better to program your own application that works with (any) spreadsheet tool…
Every year, I come into contact with thousands of documents created by various companies and people, for more than two decades. In that time, no one has ever sent me anything in Pages, Numbers, Keynote. 50% are PDF, 45% are MS Office, remaining 5% PO, HTML, TXT or video. So from my own experience, I can say that the penetration of iWork is zero, at least in the Czech Republic for work purposes.
Because Pages exports it as a document for Word, and you can open it with anything that supports MS Office
Unfortunately, MS will probably never learn to make applications differently than it was/is used to. Although 2016 is not as eye-catching on the Mac as 2011 was/is, it's still not the same. And if you want to import from 2011 to 2016, you have to save from the profiles, I had a blast
Hello, do you know how I can update my office 365 to 2016? it doesn't offer me an update anywhere, and when I give microsoft update, it tells me that I'm up to date, thank you
Because you are up to date. Office 365 is a little different from 2016. In essence, it is always up-to-date office for a monthly flat rate
thanks for the answer, but I'm still a bit lost in this, or in office 365 I have the same thing that came out now in that update?
Do you have the version of Office installed on your Mac? You can download the installer of the new version from the Office 365 website after logging in.
Again nothing, tables with VB script do not work for me. These are &^~~^***{
You can download it here: https://portal.office.com/OLS/MySoftware.aspx
Does it support Czech?
Super trick. I have Office 365 Business Premium, so I can activate Office 2016 on five devices. Another user has Office 365 Business Essential, so only email applies. It is enough to create two users on the computer with both subscriptions, activate Office 2016 from the user with the Office 365 Business Premium subscription, and Office 2016 goes to the second user with Office 365 Business Essentials, great!
This means that it is enough to have one Premium and 4 Essentials in the company, and everyone is running full Office 2016!
You don't worry too much about the legality of your solution, do you? :-)
I'm breaking, and a lot. However, I did not find anything in the GTC that would prevent my progress. If you discover this, please let me know. I would like to use only legal software. Thank you
At Microsoft, legality was never taken into account in the past - because the software was always overpriced. And that's still... (that's why I don't even use it; but we're at Jablíčkář, right!??)

I switched to apple a year ago because I was upset that the owner of a legal license is not entitled to any discount when buying a new version. But I miss Access, in which I made some databases. and I did not find an adequate replacement.
It crashes when scrolling with the magic mouse in Excel. There was no problem in the previous version.
Unable to export video from PowerPoint. I don't understand why, when it worked in the 2011 version.
