Microsoft's acquisition of developer studio 6Wunderkinder is official. As the magazine announced yesterday The wall steet journal, creators of the popular Wunderlist task manager they wander under the wings of the Redmond software giant.

Commenting on the purchase of the German startup, Microsoft's Eran Megiddo said: “The addition of Wunderlist to the Microsoft portfolio fits perfectly with our plans to reinvent productivity for a mobile- and cloud-first world. It also demonstrates our commitment to bringing the best apps on the market to all the platforms and devices our customers use for email, calendaring, communication, notes, and now tasks.”

According to media reports, the price of the acquisition should be between 100 and 200 million dollars.

As Sunrise, and Wunderlist will apparently continue to function in an unchanged form, and Microsoft is probably planning a deeper integration of these services with other services that the company offers in the future. The current pricing policy will remain the same. The free version of Wunderlist will continue to be free, and the prices for Wunderlist Pro and Wunderlist for Business subscriptions will remain the same. Users don't even have to worry about losing support for a wide range of third-party applications and services.

The CEO of the company behind Wunderlist, Christian Reber, also commented positively on the acquisition. “Joining Microsoft gives us access to a massive amount of expertise, technology and people that a small company like us could only dream of.
