Mapy.cz from Seznam is very popular among Czech users, mainly thanks to its tourist maps with precisely marked trails and cycle routes, which can also be downloaded for offline use. However, the domestic map application also wants to gain the favor of motorists, for whom it has recently added several new features. The latest and at the same time the most important one is Apple CarPlay support.
Mapy.cz got into car on-board computers thanks to yesterday's update, which upgraded the application to version 5.0.0. So if you own a car with CarPlay support, you can download it for free Mapy.cz for iOS and start using autonavigation.
Maps from Seznam can, for example, display the current permitted speed and warn the driver if it is exceeded. In April, they also learned to navigate into traffic lanes, alerting the driver to enter the correct lane even before the intersection. Offline voice navigation in several languages is also a matter of course.
Mapy.cz tested Seznam for CarPlay for three months. Those interested could download the beta version of the application via TestFlight from the beginning of September. The company invited users to do so on its Instagram and Twitter because it wanted to get as much feedback as possible before the sharp launch. The list tended to get its maps into CarPlay a little earlier, but the approval process from Apple took several months.
It is super. Another nail in the coffin of the last navigation.
It's only when I'm cycling that the application sometimes crashes, which no other has done to me. Well, maybe these ailments are already a joke ;-).
I'm definitely a fan of Mapy.cz!
again, it's not that great.
if I want the navigation to turn on for orientation around the city, without a set destination, the navigation does not show the speed, nor the direction of travel, the position indicator on the map just shifts in a choppy manner with the changing position.
