New versions of operating systems in the form of iOS and iPadOS 16, macOS 13 Ventura and watchOS 9 have been with us for several long weeks. Currently, all of these systems are available in beta versions that developers and testers can access. However, it should be mentioned that even ordinary users flock to the preliminary installation, but they often do not count on the number of errors that may appear in beta versions. Some of these errors are serious, others are not, some can be easily corrected and others we have to put up with.

macOS 13: How to fix stuck notifications

One of the completely common errors that became part of macOS 13 Ventura is the stuck notifications. This means that you will get some kind of notification that will appear in the upper right corner, but then after a few seconds it will not be hidden, but will get stuck and remain displayed. You can recognize this simply by the fact that when you move the cursor after the notification, a loading wheel appears. Fortunately, this error can be easily resolved as follows:

  • First, you need to open the app on your Mac running macOS 13 Activity monitor.
    • You can find the activity monitor in the folder Utilityapplications, or you can run it via spotlight.
  • Once you start the Activity Monitor, move to the category at the top CPU.
  • Then go to search field top right and search Notification Center.
  • A process will appear after the search Notification Center (not responding), on which click
  • Once you've clicked to mark the process, click at the top of the window cross icon.
  • Finally, a dialog box will appear where you press Force termination.

So, you can easily solve stuck notifications on your Mac (not only) with macOS 13 Ventura using the above procedure. Specifically, you kill the process that is responsible for displaying the notification, and it then restarts and the notifications start working again. In some cases, notifications can work without problems for several days, in other cases, for example, only a few minutes - in any case, expect that you will definitely have to repeat the process.
