Ondrej Holzman After the summer presentation of the new MacBook Air, the MacBook Pro with Retina display has now finally received new processors and an overall update. Big changes concern the thirteen and fifteen inch versions. Both models are cheaper and, at least in the United States, go on sale today…
13-inch MacBook Pro
The smaller version of the Retina MacBook Pro is lighter and thinner - it weighs 1,5 kilograms and is 18 millimeters thick. It got the new Haswell chip, which we already know from MacBook Airs, Iris graphics, and all this makes it up to 90 percent faster. Battery life should attack nine hours.
The price was also reduced, to 33 CZK (by 490 CZK), however, the basic model will therefore only get half the size of the operating memory than before. The new Wi-Fi 5ac is supposed to be up to three times faster, Thunderbolt 500 is also included.

The middle model, which corresponds in price to the previous base (CZK 38), already has the original 490 GB of memory. Especially a dedicated graphics card at high resolution will definitely use them. It also offers double flash storage with a capacity of 8 GB.
15-inch MacBook Pro
The larger version of the MacBook Pro with Retina display received a new Crystalwell Iris Pro graphics chip, which in the higher model also offers a dedicated GeForce GT 750M graphics card. The 15-inch model should last up to eight hours. As with the smaller model, there is also Thunderbolt 2, Wi-Fi 802.11ac and again a price reduction. The basic version will cost 49 crowns.

Unlike the smaller MacBook Pro with Retina display, Apple does not report an acceleration of the 15-inch model compared to the previous generation. This is apparently due to the fact that the basic retina has lost dedicated graphics. Instead, it uses the integrated Iris Pro, which will share the memory with the system. Because of this, in terms of graphics performance, it may even lose slightly compared to the previously used NVIDIA 650M, but only the first tests will show that for sure. On the other hand, this step brings a non-negligible drop in price, by a full 6 CZK.
Up to the higher version of the fifteen-inch retina boasts dedicated graphics. In addition to a higher processor clock (2,3 GHz), it also offers a larger 16GB memory and an NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M graphics card with 2 GB of GDDR5 memory. But the price also corresponds to this, which is already not quite popular CZK 65.
so classic macbooks for the end... pity :(

Well the iMac has that (I don't know how else to put it) than "Slim" look, while some new Thunderbolt Retina Display would be good in the same vein with the new Macs….. Sorry for the bad expression….

They are already in the Czech apple store.
Do you think the ones being sold now will go down in price?
Once merchants have them in stock and have bought them at full price, they can hardly go down significantly with their low margins. So it's up to you if it's worth waiting for discounts in the order of one percent, or if you'd rather buy a newer and more powerful model.
Why don't you check out the apple store? The older version of the MBP is 31k, but I certainly wouldn't buy it, because for 34k you get retina display, ssd disk, haswell cpu.

I would take a new MacBook Pro from NSPARKLE, they use top OWC drives, instead of Samsung trash, etc. I myself now have a 2008 MacBook Pro with an OWC SSD and you wouldn't believe how amazing the ntb is, despite its age. :)
what is the difference in the performance of the dual core i5 and i7 for the 13? It tells me that it is not possible to put a quad core there..;/ The 15 is too big, I don't want it..:(
Quite yes, I have an i5 and a colleague's i7 and i7, among other things, can control two 27″ external cinema displays (without internal LCD), my i5 only one + internal LCD. Ok, that was probably a stupid explanation, but when we compile something, the i7 is known
As mentioned below - does the classic Booky Pro end? Just kidding if they mean it. It's really amazing that the Retina now costs almost the same as the MacBook Pro (two liters more expensive), but I'm not going to pay stupid extras for SSD and RAM (16GB - 8000, isn't it beautiful? ) if I want good performance and I can't afford it myself replace a drive or memory just to show Apple that they can cram beastly performance into a chassis that's a few percent thinner than the competition. I take it as Apple saying to me, “Do you need a lot of frames or space? You're probably a billionaire and either pay extra or buy a Mac Pro straight away, you have no other choice!"
All of Apple has increased in price by about two thousand since last year - First iPhones and now even iPad mini retina or MacBook Pro. Yes, the products are better, but in my opinion (especially if I take into account the production prices of the products) the prices should remain according to the previous models.
Overall, I find Apple ridiculous this year. Yes, they innovate, they improve, but they also, with forgiveness, screw people like hell. It was like that even under Jobs, but now it seems to me like total ignorance. I'm determined that my next phone won't be an iPhone, and I'm already considering a Mac Mini for my next computer. Of course, if they put 8GB of RAM in Books as standard (don't be angry, even the current, recently introduced 4GB as standard is not enough in premium machines at this price) and for an extra fee of 4000,- let's give it 16GB, I will keep silent and not write a post here.
I sincerely hope my non-retinal Book will last me a while. Although it can't produce a 4x smoother image (which a 13″ retina must still be able to render "perfectly" thanks to the integrated graphics), in return I will exchange some of the most important components there and as a bonus I will get a battery indicator or a switch off button in a nicer place :)

Their margins are unreal theft, which thanks to their large purchases, the power goes through. See the iPhone for 20t and I still can't deliver. And I earn that thanks to the app store...
btw.. as a phone I would recommend, for example, Xiaomi Mi2s/Mi3 with MIUI (completely tuned android for people) with high-end HW for half the price of an iPhone..

I was going to buy the MBP 15″ version with anti-glare display, do you think I will still be able to get it? the Slovak m:zone still has the option of an optional matte display, will it continue to be the case? I was waiting for a lower price. BTW 13″ is uninteresting because it only comes with a glossy display.
Otherwise, I wouldn't cry so much about the prices, 5 years ago it was the same, if not worse...
