Apple today announced the start of sales of the new Mac Pro. The second generation of the most powerful Mac will go on sale tomorrow, December 19, 2013. They will be available in the official Apple online store.

The new Mac Pro will offer an innovative cylindrical design as well as an eighth size compared to the previous generation. Up to a twelve-core Intel Xeon E25 processor and dual AMD FirePro graphics cards will be hidden in a chassis measuring 17 x 5 centimeters. There will be plenty of fast RAM and fast flash storage.

This workstation will also offer world-class connectivity. Apple decided to use its new Thunderbolt 2 technology and included it directly in six ports. It will also offer one HDMI 1.4 port, four USB 3, two gigabit Ethernet ports and Wi-Fi standard 802.11ac. As for external displays, the Mac Pro can handle three with 4K resolution.

Two versions of the Mac Pro will be available tomorrow in Apple's online store, both of which should be further configurable. The delivery date is not yet known.

[do action=”update” date=”19. 12. 9:55″/]Apple has just updated its Czech Apple Online Store, and anyone hoping to order a new Mac Pro on the first day and receive it before the end of the year will be disappointed. Although Apple opened orders today, 19/12, it lists January 2014 as the delivery date. In the US Apple Online Store, the date when the new Mac Pro will be available for shipment is December 30, so the question is how much later deliveries to Europe will be delayed.
