Macs, which made Apple famous in its early days, are stagnating. CEO Tim Cook's vision to fixate exclusively on mobile devices and promote the iPad as a replacement for the classic desktop computer makes wrinkles on the face of many users of this brand, even if the head of Apple tries to say otherwise. Today's sad milestone also speaks against his words: it's been 1 days since the last time a new Mac Pro was introduced. Moreover, his colleagues are not much better off.

The Mac, or Macintosh, has come a long way since its first introduction in 1984. Apple has understandably revolutionized and innovated this line to the point where these computers have become iconic products. Nowadays, however, most computers are stagnant and some are completely out of date for hundreds of days.

A typical example can be the Mac Pro, which has just "celebrated" the thousandth day without change, or the MacBook Pro without Retina display, which has been untouched since June 2012.

The popular section provides an interesting data overview of Apple's current computer portfolio Buyer's Guide magazine MacRumors, which serves as a handy buyer's guide. In it, you can find authoritative information about whether the selected product is worth buying, or whether it is better to wait for the next generation, which, according to the time since the last update, should probably arrive before long.

Unfortunately, currently only one in eight Macs offered today does not have a red “Do not buy!” sign.

  • Mac Pro: Updated December 2013 = 1 days
  • MacBook Pro without Retina: Updated June 2012 = 1 days
  • Mac Mini: Updated October 2014 = 699 days
  • MacBook Air: Updated March 2015 = 555 days
  • MacBook Pro with Retina: Updated May 2015 = 484 days
  • iMac: Updated October 2015 = 337 days
  • MacBook: Updated April 2016 = 148 days

The above list clearly shows that Apple is only keeping its computers alive and has not provided them with the necessary injection, at least in the form of improved parameters, over several hundred days. The only candidate that, according to the mentioned manual, is suitable to buy at the moment is the twelve-inch MacBook, which is the only one earned a revision in 2016.

However, considering that Apple offers two more laptops (MacBook Pro without Retina is no longer very relevant) and three desktop computers, this is really not enough. The smallest MacBook is significantly trimmed on all sides and is far from an ideal machine for everyone.

Although it seems that they really resented Macy at Apple, the head of the company, Tim Cook, is trying to make sure that this is not the case. In response to a certain fan's e-mail, he replied that Apple remains loyal to Macs and that we should look forward to what's to come. If the latest reports are completed, we could wait perhaps as early as this October, at least MacBook Pro with touch control panel.
