The rivalry between Apple and Microsoft seems to have no end, and the latest advertisement for the Surface Laptop 2 is a clear proof of that. In it, the Redmond company compares its latest laptop with the MacBook.

The thirty-second ad features a man aptly named Mackenzie Book, or "Mac Book" for short. And this is where the whole point of the video lies, as "Mac Book" recommends using the Surface Laptop 2, which in his opinion is clearly better.

Microsoft compares three main areas, and the MacBook is said to fall behind the Surface Laptop 2 in all of them. Specifically, the notebook from the Redmond company should have a longer battery life, be faster and finally have a better touch screen. The last aspect is then emphasized by the ironic remark that the MacBook does not actually have a touch screen at all. In conclusion, "Mac" clearly recommends Surface.

In tiny notes in small print at the bottom of the screen, we then learn that the Surface Laptop 2 was specifically compared to the MacBook Air. Microsoft also says that its notebook gets longer battery life when playing local video on a computer, and that results may vary based on specific settings and usage. The higher speed is then indicated based on the results from GeekBench when comparing the scores of the Multi-Thread test.

Microsoft has been targeting Apple and its products quite often lately. A few months ago, for example fired from iPads and disputed the California company's claim that it was a full-fledged computer replacement. He did a similar thing earlier in 2018, leaning into Apple's ad campaign bearing the name What's a Computer?, which promoted iPads as suitable alternatives to laptops.

However, Microsoft's actions are not surprising. Apple poked fun at its main rival for three years (between 2006 and 2009) when it ran an advertising campaign "Get a Mac". In that Cupertino shamelessly compared Mac and PC in all possible areas. Windows computers, of course, never came out as the winning ones and were often dishonored in a rather funny way.
