The Mac App Store may launch even sooner than expected. The new Mac App Store was originally planned for January, but Steve Jobs wants to launch the Mac App Store before Christmas, on December 13th to be exact. At least that's what the server says AppleTell.

AppleTell reports that Apple will launch the Mac App Store on Monday, December 13. He was informed about this by a source close to the Californian company. Apple has reportedly told developers to have their apps ready by December XNUMXth, although it would be surprising if that was actually the case. Although Apple has not yet made any official statements, a possible launch before Christmas would be an understandable strategic move.

What is certain so far is that the developers have been sending their application for approval for several weeks and recently the new version of Mac OS X 10.6.6 has also reached them. End users will also need the same version for the Mac App Store to work, so there will be no Mac App Store until the new version of the operating system is ready. However, all indications are that Mac OS X 10.6.6 is almost ready. Thus, Apple will not need the previously announced 90 days to open a store.
