An input monitor is woefully missing from Apple's menu. Apple users have been pointing out for a long time that Apple unfortunately does not offer any cheaper display that could be a great partner, for example, for users of Apple laptops or generally cheaper Mac minis. If you wanted to build a cheap Apple setup and buy a Mac mini (starting at CZK 17), the cheapest monitor from the Cupertino company, Studio Display, would cost you nearly CZK 490.

A slight paradox is that the current Mac mini, which was revealed to the world at the beginning of 2023, is seen in official photos in combination with the aforementioned Studio Display monitor. As we mentioned above, in terms of price, these two products do not go well together. It was at this point that the call for a cheap entry-level display became loudest. A discussion was thus opened practically immediately across the apple-growing forums. But what is the reality? Is a cheap Apple monitor in the works, or is it just wishful thinking from Apple fans that probably won't come true?

Cheap Apple monitor: Near reality or impossible wish?

So let's focus on the main question, namely whether there is a chance for the arrival of a cheap Apple monitor, which could be a great partner for the mentioned Mac mini, but also for other basic models. At the same time, as is generally known, the products from the workshop of the Cupertino company are characterized by a sympathetic design. Such a monitor, which would, however, be available at a relatively reasonable price, could be a very attractive choice for example for offices, especially if we add Retina technology to the design.

His arrival makes a lot of sense. The fans want it, and Apple has the necessary resources to reveal to the world another product under the Apple computer portfolio. After all, a very similar situation also applied to the operating system iOS 17. According to initial information, it was not supposed to bring much news, on the contrary. Apple would have preferred to invest its attention in the emerging operating system xrOS, which is supposed to power the expected AR/VR headset, due to which iOS itself was put on the back burner. Subsequently, however, the situation turned diametrically. Apple probably listened to the pleas of Apple users and their disagreement, which is why it finally decided on the arrival of important changes.

Is it possible that Apple will bring the same twist in the case of the monitor? In this case, unfortunately, it is not so happy, on the contrary. It is necessary to take into account the differences between the iOS system and a potential cheap monitor. iOS is Apple's main software. It runs on Apple phones, which can also be described as the building block of the entire ecosystem. It is thus widespread among the largest percentage of apple growers. On the contrary, there is nowhere near as much interest in a cheap monitor. First of all, phones significantly outnumber Mac sales, and the important point is that Mac mini sales are a smaller fraction of that. In the end, the new product would be welcomed by a relatively small group of potential customers, which clearly implies that the project as such might not be entirely beneficial for Apple. This is also the reason why we probably won't see it. Would you like a cheap Apple monitor, or are you content with what the competition offers?
