And as it seems, it was the special program that lured a lot of customers to authorized services, because Apple changed batteries eleven times more often in the past year than in previous years.
The specific numbers were revealed by Tim Cook during a private meeting with Apple employees, which took place on January 3. According to Cook, Apple replaced over 11 million batteries during the said program. At the same time, the company's authorized service centers only replace around 1-2 million accumulators. The increase was thus up to eleven times this year.
