Nowadays, it would be hard for me to imagine having an account at a bank that does not offer internet banking. A service that practically did not exist a few years ago has found its place not only on our computers, but also in smartphones. Every day, people around the world use iPhones and other smartphones to make millions of payment orders and transactions. So it's no wonder that we have more and more options to manage our bank accounts through the phone.
Banking institutions are constantly competing to offer new services and various user gadgets. We compared the mobile applications of the ten most important banks operating in the Czech Republic and tested what functions and user comfort they bring to their clients. In our comparison, the mobile application from Zuno Bank performed best.
It brings customers a wide range of practical functions and completely simple and intuitive operation. Thanks to it, you can manage your entire account from your mobile phone and you don't have to think about visiting a branch at all. Zuno doesn't even have one. As with any banking institution, just open a free account with Zuno and you can use the mobile app.
The Zuno application is also available for iOS, Android and Windows Phone platforms. You log in to the Zuno application using the PIN code that you create when you log in and activate your account for the first time. Creating an account is very simple. To open an account online, you only need two documents of identity and (another) functional bank account.
Standard offer of mobile services
The application itself is also simple, in full name ZUNO CZ Mobile Banking, which is to the benefit of the cause. Immediately after logging in, you can see how much money you have in your account, as well as all recent transactions. In the financial overview, you have a graphical representation of how your account status has developed in recent months, which is a nice bonus compared to other banks.
Have you ever typed in your payment and account number? Personally, I have always been very careful about this, but it is always safer to pay using a QR code or a scanner, when I just point the camera at the slip or invoice and the application recognizes all the necessary data by itself. I will then just confirm the payment and everything will be sent to its destination. This service is already offered by most banks, including Zuno.
The same is true for setting all limits for card or internet payments. You can also remotely block your payment card via the mobile application, which is a very welcome service in the event of a lost or stolen card. At a time when you can pay up to 500 crowns with contactless cards without entering a PIN, blocking the card via mobile applications is the fastest way to prevent money leakage.
But the ATM search engine appealed to me the most against Zuno's competition. It can search for ATMs and branches of all banking institutions, including post offices, while some competing banks will only offer to search for their own ATMs. Zuno can also activate built-in navigation, so if you have an ATM nearby, you don't even have to go to another app for navigation.
Greater security with Touch ID is missing
Zuno's calculator for loans, savings and deposits has also worked well for me. I can take out a loan or start saving directly in the mobile application, which is a service that not all banking institutions offer in their applications. For example, some can only use a calculator, while others can only arrange a loan. For a complete service, you must visit banking in the web interface.
On the contrary, what most "mobile banks" can do is set up all payments, i.e. standing orders, scheduled payments or direct debits. There are various restrictions and security measures so that sending money from a mobile phone is not so easily exploited, however, with Zuno and most other applications today, you can easily send a payment in a few seconds.
When we talk about security, a fairly key security element is the mobile banking login itself. Today, some banks, specifically UniCredit Bank and Komerční banka, have replaced the classic password with the more sophisticated Touch ID, i.e. with a fingerprint, but Zuno and others still rely on a PIN or a classic password. Logging in and managing the entire account is then more protected.
A mobile app is a must these days
Zuno, like every other competitor, offers a mobile app in the App Store for free, but – again like other banks – it is only adapted for the iPhone so far. Of course, you can also run it on the iPad, but it won't look very good. At the same time, managing bank accounts on the iPad could be so convenient. Whoever is the first among the banks to arrive on the iPad could certainly gain a few customers thanks to it.
You'll find a smaller problem with the Zune if you have an iPhone 6S Plus. Even a year after the introduction of the largest iPhone, the developers have not been able to adapt the interface, so the controls are large and unsightly. Of course, this does not affect the functionality. Unfortunately, this confirms the trend of all giant corporations in the Czech Republic, which do not come exactly on time with the implementation of news or reacting to changes. It's definitely not just Zuno.
On the other hand, the Zuno application is otherwise pleasant and easy to use, which everyone will appreciate. If you are a Zuno client, it is definitely worth using the mobile application.

The title sounds as if this application allows account management in any bank.
Exactly. I am already wary of misleading headlines on Jablíčkář.
Jojo, I also thought that it was weird and that app is scary, Fio and Mbank have better ones.
I don't want someone to spend money on a review of an app that looks tragic.
why should the application be more protected if a PIN or password is used instead of Touch ID?
Since you mention the iPhone 6splus, which is not on the market for a year, but I understand what the author wanted to say, why don't you mention how it looks on the iPad?
iPhone 6 Plus or 6S Plus, it doesn't matter. We mention how it looks on the iPad. There is no iPad version, so you just run the expanded iPhone version there.
So this is a weakness, for example, ekonto from Raiffeisen bank has been offering the iPad version for a long time.
The mobile application from Zuno has not undergone any changes since its birth. I don't know how some polls and competitions can still rate such applications as the best together with Reifka. Tragic design and services that can only be used if the user has a PLUS account, otherwise the application sucks. They are much better on the market, which is constantly evolving. Here, just look at their ads and it is immediately clear where they are spending unnecessarily.
well, as you can see, Zuno probably didn't do much to promote this product
Well, Zuno paid for an advertisement on Jablíčkář, well... :-P
:D That's exactly what I want to write right now! :D …but considering the basic knowledge of journalism, I am surprised that I don't see the label "PR article" anywhere, but that the editors seriously reduced this article and released it as an editorial!
I guess I don't understand the comparison table, I don't know that mBank has a scanner for invoices or folders?
The Fio bank application can also log in using TID. It's great - I don't remember my name and password for a long time and I'm always logged in within a second. I wouldn't want mobile banking without it.
Gentlemen, bookmark PR articles. This is not done…
