Nowadays, the Apple Watch is far from just an ordinary communicator and sports tracker - it can replace some basic and advanced health functions. Like most similar products, the Apple Watch is also capable of measuring heart rate, blood oxygenation and also has the option of creating an EKG. Last but not least, it can quite accurately detect defibrillation or record if you fall, and possibly call for help. This clearly shows the character Apple is trying to give to the watch. Or are these more words to increase sales?

If this is to be the beginning, the Californian giant is on the right track

The health features I've listed above are certainly useful - and Fall Detection in particular can save just about anyone's life. But if Apple rests on its laurels and implements functions in its watches at a similar pace as in the last two years, we cannot expect anything revolutionary. It has been speculated for some time that the Apple Watch will be able to measure blood sugar, temperature or pressure, but so far we have not seen anything like that.

Interesting concept depicting blood sugar measurement:

Of course, as a diabetic, I know that measuring blood sugar is not at all as easy as it may seem to the uninitiated, and if the watch measured it only as a guide, incorrect values could endanger the lives of diabetics. But in the case of blood pressure, Apple has already been overtaken by some products from the field of wearable electronics, and it is no different for body temperature. I honestly don't mind Apple company not being the first to come up with health features every time, I definitely prefer quality over quantity here. The question is whether we will even see it.

It's never too late, but now is the perfect time

It is true that the Californian company cannot complain about the sales of its watches, quite the opposite. So far, it manages to dominate the market with wearable electronics, as evidenced by the huge interest of consumers. But other manufacturers have noticed a stagnation in the field of innovation at Apple, and in many things they are already breathing on its heels or even surpassing it.

watch OS 8:

Regular users use their Apple Watch for basic communication, measuring sports activities, listening to music and making payments. But it is precisely in this aspect that strong competition is looming, which will be relentless the moment Apple hesitates. If Apple wants to maintain its dominant position, it could certainly work on common health functions that we will all use. Whether it's measuring temperature, pressure, or something else, I think the watch would become an even more usable product. The watch could really help its owners, and if the Cupertino giant continues on this path, we can look forward to incredible progress. What do you require from Apple Watch? Is it something related to healthcare, or perhaps better battery life per charge? Let us know what you think in the comments.
