It has been a long-standing tradition that with each new version of macOS (formerly Mac OS X) also comes a new wallpaper that decorates the screen first when the operating system is introduced as such, and then every other Apple computer. The last time we saw high mountains in MacOS High Sierra, but whoever is interested can now download even much older wallpapers, in 5K.
Stephen Hackett of 512 Pixels in cooperation with @forgottentowel has prepared an amazing collection of 5K wallpapers from Mac OS X 10.0 Cheetah to macOS High Sierra, which are separated by 16 years.
You can download the entire collection on the website 512 Pixels, you can find wallpapers from Cheetah, Puma, Jaguar, Panther, Tiger, Leopard, Snow Leopard, Lion, Mountain Lion, Mavericks, Yosemite, El Capitan, Sierra and High Sierra operating systems here.
Which wallpaper do you like the most? Do you prefer the rounded shapes and curves of the first versions of Mac OS X, or do you prefer nature from the latest versions?
I prefer the shapes and curves. A nice picture of nature is nice to look at, it probably looks representative, but when working it has a distracting effect, it does not respect what is spread out in front of it - and that sometimes becomes harder to see, read or easily overlooked.
Complete agreement, shapes and curves - what is placed on the surface is much more visible and easier to read.
