In this regular column, every day we look at the most interesting news that revolves around the California company Apple. Here we focus exclusively on the main events and selected (interesting) speculations. So if you are interested in current events and want to be informed about the apple world, definitely spend a few minutes on the following paragraphs.

The iPad is currently in short supply

Last week on Friday, the brand new eighth generation iPad went on sale. It was presented at the Apple Event keynote alongside the redesigned iPad Air and the Apple Watch Series 6 along with the cheaper SE model. However, something happened that no one had expected so far. The aforementioned iPad became a scarce commodity almost immediately, and if you were interested in it now, you would have to wait almost a month at worst.

iPad Air (4th generation) received perfect changes:

What is striking, however, is that the iPad does not even bring any significant changes or conveniences that would cause increased demand for the product. In any case, the apple company states on its Online Store that if you order an apple tablet today, you will receive it between the twelfth and the nineteenth of October. Authorized resellers are in the same situation. Supposedly, there should be a problem with the supply of new pieces, and as soon as some run out, there are so few of them that they are sold immediately. Probably everything is related to the global pandemic and the so-called corona crisis, due to which there was a reduction in production.

Apple is preparing a special chip for cheaper iPhones

Apple phones are undoubtedly associated with first-class performance in the eyes of users. This is ensured by sophisticated chips coming directly from Apple's workshop. Last week, the Californian giant even showed us the new Apple A14 chip, which powers the above-mentioned iPad Air 4th generation, and it can be expected to ensure smooth operation even in the case of the expected iPhone 12. According to various sources, Apple is also working on brand new chips that would expand the company's portfolio.

The Californian giant is said to be working on a chip called B14. It should be slightly weaker than A14 and thus fall into the middle class. In the current situation, however, it is not clear whether the processor will be based on the aforementioned A14 version, or whether Apple designed it completely from scratch. Well-known leaker MauriQHD has reportedly known about this information for months, but didn't make it public until now because he still wasn't sure. In his tweet, we also find a mention that the iPhone 12 mini could be fitted with a B14 chip. But according to the apple community, this is an unlikely option. For comparison, we can take this year's iPhone SE 2nd generation, which hides last year's A13 Bionic.

So in which model could we find the B14 chip? In the current situation, we practically have three suitable candidates. It could be the upcoming iPhone 12 with 4G connectivity, which Apple is preparing for early next year. Analyst Jun Zhang has already commented on this, according to which the 4G model of the upcoming iPhone will have a number of other components. Another candidate is the iPhone SE successor. It should offer the same 4,7″ LCD display and we could expect it already in the first quarter of next year. But how it will all turn out is still unclear. What are your tips?

Images of the iPhone 12 cable have leaked online

Pictures of a leaked iPhone 12 cable are currently circulating on the Internet. We could see some of the pictures as early as July of this year. Today, leaker Mr White contributed to the "discussion" by sharing a few more photos on Twitter, giving us more detailed information about the cable in question.

At first glance, you can see that this is a cable with USB-C and Lightning connectors. In addition, according to several different sources, it is now certain that Apple will not include a charging adapter or EarPods in the packaging of this year's generation of Apple phones. On the contrary, we could find this very cable in the mentioned package. So what does that mean? Because of this, the Californian giant will add a 20W USB-C adapter for fast charging to the offer, which would also solve the European common charging standard, which just requires USB-C.

Braided USB-C/Lightning cable (Twitter):

But what makes the cable even more interesting is its material. If you look closely at the attached pictures, you can see that the cable is braided. The vast majority of apple users have been complaining for years about relatively low-quality charging cables that are very easily damaged. However, a braided cable could be the solution, which would greatly increase the durability and service life of the accessory.
