As of last week, we all know that chief designer Jony Ive is leaving after more than twenty years, Apple. News of the top-secret work Ive has been doing is also beginning to come to light.

In this context, there is talk, for example, about his futuristic design vision, which he wanted to apply to the unrealized Apple Car. Apple's plans for its own autonomous car have seen a number of twists and turns over the years, but according to recent reports, it looks like the Apple Car could actually finally come to fruition between 2023 and 2025. When the idea of a car was first born at Apple, a number of people came up with all kinds of ideas, of which Ivea was among the most ambitious.

The Information server he said, that Ive then came up with several prototypes of the Apple Car, one of which consisted entirely of wood and leather and apparently lacked a steering wheel. The car designed by Ive was supposed to be completely controllable with the help of the Siri voice assistant. Ive pitched his concept to Tim Cook, using an actress to "play" Siri and respond to management's instructions for a demonstration.

It's unclear how far Apple took this idea, but it shows just how creative Ive could be in his visions. The projects he worked on included, for example, television. But - like the first Apple Watch prototypes - it never saw the light of day.

Ive eventually began working closely with Jeff Williams, and over the years the two have managed to create a collaborative team whose work has produced a great result in the form of Apple's smartwatch.

Although most Apple employees reportedly learned of Ive's departure only at the last minute, it wasn't hard to guess, according to The Information. For example, Ive admitted in an interview with The New Yorker that in 2015, after the release of the Apple Watch, he became very tired and gradually began to resign from his daily duties, which he often delegated to his closest colleagues. The pressure that Ive was undoubtedly under from the beginning of his time at Apple slowly began to take its toll.

Apparently, Ive began to feel the need to break away from designing consumer electronics products - so it's no wonder that he threw himself headlong and enthusiastically into designing the Apple Park campus. It was this work that allowed him, at least for a while, to get a new lease of life.

Although Ive's collaboration with Apple is not completely over - Apple will be a major client of the company Ive newly founded - many people see his departure from Cupertino as a harbinger of significant changes, and some even compare it to the departure of Steve Jobs. However, sources close to Apple's design team say that Ive's departure will not shake Apple that much, and we will see products inspired by his design for several more years.
