For years, there has been a saying in the smartphone world that iOS is significantly simpler and easier to use than its rival Android. After all, this is also one of the reasons that Android phone users don't like it, while it becomes a priority for the other side. But have you ever thought about whether this is actually a true statement? It is so ingrained among users that it doesn't have to be valid for a long time.

A little history

As we mentioned above, this saying has been with us for quite a few years. When iOS and Android began to compete with each other, the system for iPhone phones certainly could not be denied that it was a bit friendlier at first glance. The user interface was noticeably simplified, as were the setting options, the method of downloading applications and the form. But we have to look for the fundamental difference somewhere else. While iOS has been noticeably closed since its inception, Android has taken a completely different tack and offers its users a ton of options, from more noticeable system tweaks to sideloading.

If we look at it from this point of view, it is immediately clear to us. So we can really consider iOS as a simpler system. At the same time, the Apple system benefits from excellent integration across native applications and other Apple products. From this group we can point out, for example, Keychain on iCloud and automatic filling of passwords, mirroring of content using AirPlay, FaceTime and iMessage, emphasis on privacy, concentration modes and others.

Does the saying still apply today?

If you put a new iPhone and an equally old phone with the Android operating system next to each other and ask yourself this question, which system is easier, you probably won't even find the most objective answer. For this reason, it must be remembered that even in this field it strongly depends on personal preferences and habit, which is of course completely natural for everyday equipment. So if someone has been using an iPhone for 10 years and you suddenly put a Samsung in his hand, then it is safe to say that the first few moments he will obviously be really confused and may have problems with some actions. But such a comparison does not make any sense.

android vs ios

Both operating systems have undergone a huge evolution in recent years. It has long been impossible to claim that iOS is generally on top or vice versa - in short, both systems have their pros and cons. At the same time, it is necessary to look at it a little differently. If we consider the majority group of ordinary users, then the saying can be called a myth. Of course, it is often said among die-hard fans that in the case of iOS, the user has no customization options and is thus severely limited. But let's pour some neat wine - is this really something most of us need? For the vast majority of users, this point does not matter, regardless of whether they use an iPhone or another phone. They simply need the ability to call, write messages and download various applications.

The truth is that Android offers significantly more options and you can win with it, but it is necessary to take into account that very few people will be interested in something similar. And that's why the statement: "iOS is easier than Android" can no longer be taken as true.

The answer is still not clear cut

However, I personally have to share a recent experience that slightly shatters previous thoughts. My mom recently switched to her very first iPhone, after about 7 years on Android, and she still can't praise it enough. In this regard, the iOS operating system primarily receives applause, which, according to them, is significantly clearer, simpler and does not have the slightest problem in finding anything. Fortunately, there is a simple explanation for this case as well.

Every person is different and has different preferences, which of course applies in practically all areas. Whether it is, for example, taste, favorite places, way of spending free time, or perhaps a preferred mobile operating system. While someone may be more comfortable with a competitive solution, for example despite previous experience, on the contrary, some will not let their favorite go. Then, of course, it doesn't matter at all whether it is one system or another.

Both iOS and Android have something in common, both offer their strengths and a slightly different approach. That's why I honestly find it rather silly to argue about which one is better or easier, since it doesn't really matter in the end. On the contrary, it is good that both sides are competing strongly, which drives the entire smartphone market by leaps and bounds and provides us with new and new features. What is your opinion on this topic? Do you find iOS easier or is it just a matter of personal preference?
