With exceptions, as was the case with the iPhone 12, Apple has a busy system for introducing new products. We can therefore look forward to a new series of iPhones every year in September, just as with regard to the new generations of Apple Watch, iPads are usually presented in March or October, etc. But then there are AirPods, for example, for which we wait a really disproportionately long time.

Does it make sense to buy AirPods Pro now? Apple launched these TWS headphones back on October 30, 2019, so it will soon be three years. This is how we expect their successors this year. While we don't know much about the news, whatever it may be, it's likely that the headphones will be in the same price range as they are now. And of course this is a problem for customers. So should they wait for a new one, or buy an already old and still relatively expensive model now?

Who will wait…

Technology is constantly evolving, rather quickly than slowly. So a three-year cycle is really disproportionately long with regard to waiting for a new generation of a product. It is true that it will get the attention it deserves, but shortly after its release, the hype around it will gradually die down until it falls into oblivion.

Apple wouldn't have to make a lot of changes to bring out new AirPods every year and make them the talk of the town every year. With such a window between the old and the new generation, a lot of competition will be created in it, which often does not lose functionally to the Apple solution, and since it is simply heard about at the moment, many customers will prefer it. And it's quite logical.

In addition, there are the speculations. Anyone familiar with the issue knows that there are rumors about a successor, and even if he wanted the given product, he would simply wait for the news, because it is obvious that it will come sooner or later. After all, the 3rd generation AirPods were already being talked about at least a year in advance, but Apple kept teasing us like crazy before we actually got them. Maybe it's nice to see all the big news that the new generation will bring, but from a sales point of view it might be more beneficial to bring smaller changes and regularly. After all, we see it with iPads, where not much changes, just like with the Apple Watch.

Color situation

And then there's the HomePod mini, Apple's most mysterious product. Does it make sense to buy it now? The company introduced it on November 16, 2020, and since then it has seen new color combinations apart from software improvements. Is it enough? But it could be said that it actually is. HomePod mini was written about not only when Apple introduced the new colors, but also when they came to the market. In the meantime, it might just be enough to tease customers with new colors, which Apple has already figured out with iPhones. So why do we still have pure white AirPods?
