Surely all of you know it - Lack of space on iCloud - an annoying message that pops up on the iPhone almost every day. Every user who registers an Apple ID gets 5GB of free iCloud storage from Apple, but 5GB is really not enough these days. That's why you'll definitely need an iCloud storage upgrade in the future, which is paid monthly and will really save you money. So let's see together in this article how you can increase your iCloud storage. Then again, some of you might want to downsize to save - of course we'll show you how to do that as well.

iCloud plan prices

There are four iCloud storage plans available. If you are an individual, one of the cheaper ones will definitely be enough for you. However, if, for example, you share your storage with your family, then it is definitely worth choosing a larger storage. However, the choice is still yours:

  • 5 GB – free, cannot be shared with family
  • 50 GB – 25 crowns per month, cannot be shared with family
  • 200 GB – 79 crowns per month, can be shared with the family
  • 2 TB – 249 crowns per month, can be shared with the family

How to increase your iCloud storage plan

If you have decided that the basic 5 GB on iCloud is not enough for you and would like to upgrade the storage, then proceed as follows. On your iOS device, navigate to the native app Settings, where at the top of the screen click on Your name. Then choose an option iCloud and wait from where everything is not loaded. Then just click on the option Manage storage. Now you will have to wait again for a while until it loads. Then just select the option Change storage plan. A new screen will open where all you have to do is choose one of the larger tariffs. Once you have chosen one of them, mark it and click on in the upper right corner Buy. After that, you only need to go through the classic confirmations and the iCloud storage increase is complete.

How to reduce your iCloud storage plan

If you already had more storage on iCloud, but are unable to use it, or if you shared iCloud with family members, but for some reason no longer do so, then the option to reduce storage on iCloud will definitely come in handy. In this case, go to the native app Settings, where you click the s tab on your behalf. Then choose the named option iCloud and wait until everything is loaded. Then click on the option Manage storage. Again, wait for it to load. Then choose an option Change storage plan and from the new screen that appears, click on Tariff reduction options. Then enter your account password and click the button Manage. Once you do that, you're good to go choose a lower tariff, and then click the button in the upper right part Done.

I hope this guide has helped you decide which iCloud plan is right for you. I personally use the 200 GB tariff, together three of us in the family use it and I must say that it is enough. If you decide to reduce your storage plan, for example from 200 GB to 50 GB, and you have 100 GB on iCloud, you must delete all excess data before the next billing period. Otherwise, this excess data will be deleted.
