In addition to working on recently introduced operating systems, Apple of course continues to develop and repair systems that are intended for the public. A few days ago, Apple released iOS and iPadOS 15.6, macOS 12.5 Monterey and watchOS 8.7 - so if you have a compatible device, definitely don't delay installing the update. However, from time to time it happens that after installing the update, some users complain about lower battery life or a decrease in performance. Therefore, in this article, we will show you 5 tips and tricks with which you can speed up your iPhone with iOS 15.6.

Automatic updates

As I mentioned in the introduction, the installation of updates is extremely important, not only because of the availability of new functions, but mainly because of the correction of errors and bugs. The operating system can check for and download app and iOS system updates in the background, which is definitely nice, but on the other hand, it can slow down older iPhones in particular. So if you don't mind manually checking for updates, you can turn off automatic app and iOS updates. You do so in Settings → App Store, where in the category Turn off automatic downloads function App updates, respectively in Settings → General → Software Update → Automatic Update.

Transparency

When using the iOS system, you may notice that transparency is displayed in some parts of it - for example, in the control or notification center. Although this effect is nice, it can slow down the system, especially on older iPhones. In practice, it is necessary to render two screens at once, and then perform the processing. Fortunately, it is possible to deactivate the transparency, just go to Settings → Accessibility → Display and text size, where activate function Reducing transparency.

Background updates

Some apps may update their content in the background. We can see this, for example, with weather applications or social networks. If you move to such an application, you are always sure that you will see the latest available content - thanks to background updates. However, the truth is that this feature slows down the iPhone due to excessive background activity. So if you don't mind waiting a few seconds for new content to load, you can turn off background updates to speed things up. Just go to Settings → General → Background Updates. Here you can function deactivate completely or only partially for individual applications.

cache

Applications and websites create all kinds of data during use, which is called cache. For websites, this data is mainly used to load websites faster, or to save passwords and preferences - all data does not have to be downloaded again after each visit to the website, thanks to the cache, but is loaded from storage. Depending on usage, the cache can take up several gigabytes of storage space. Within Safari, the cache can be cleared in Settings → Safari, where below click on Delete site history and data and confirm the action. In other browsers and in other applications, you can, if possible, delete the cache somewhere in the settings or preferences.

Animations and effects

In addition to the fact that you can notice transparency when using iOS, you definitely also notice various animation effects. These are displayed, for example, when moving from one page to another, when closing and opening applications, when moving in applications, etc. On newer devices, these animations and effects work without problems thanks to the high performance of the chip, however, on older devices there may already be a problem with them and system may slow down. In any case, animations and effects can be simply turned off, which will make your iPhone significantly easier and you will feel a significant acceleration even on newer Apple phones. Just go to Settings → Accessibility → Motion, where activate Limit movement. At the same time ideally turn on i Prefer blending.
