In native Podcasts on Mac, you can also customize the amount of time you advance when skipping within an episode you're playing. To customize this time slot, launch Podcasts and from the menu bar at the top of the screen, click Podcasts -> Settings. In the upper part of the Settings window, click on the Playback tab and in the Playback buttons section, select the desired time period in the drop-down menu for both items.

Synchronization across devices

One of the advantages of Apple applications is automatic synchronization across all devices signed in to the same Apple ID. However, it may happen that for various reasons you do not want this synchronization. In that case, launch native Podcasts and click Podcasts -> Settings from the menu bar at the top of your Mac screen. At the top of the settings window, select the General tab and uncheck Sync Library.
