Regarding the forced restart, Apple writes that it should be the last resort on iPhones and iPads in the event that the device does not respond for various reasons, but it is often a very quick and effective solution to problems not only with iOS freezing, but also with the non-functionality of some functions. However, owners of the new iPhone 7 must learn a new keyboard shortcut.

Until now, iPhones, iPads or iPod touches have been forced to restart as follows: hold down the sleep button together with the desktop button (Home button) for at least ten seconds (but usually less) until the Apple logo appears.

The Home button, in which Touch ID is also integrated, can no longer be used to restart the device on the new iPhone 7. This is because it is not a classic hardware button, so if iOS does not respond, you will not even "press" the Home button.

That's why Apple has implemented a new method of forced restart on iPhone 7: you have to hold the sleep button together with the volume down button for at least ten seconds until the Apple logo appears.

If the iPhone 7 or 7 Plus is unresponsive for some reason and iOS reports a frozen state, it is the combination of these two buttons that will most likely help you.
