There may come a time in your life when you need to connect AirPods to your Apple TV. Personally, I use this function with my girlfriend practically every day, because I can't concentrate at work when there is some noise around me. So my girlfriend plays Apple TV and, for example, Netflix on her AirPods in the room, while I can work in peace. However, connecting AirPods to Apple TV is not quite as intuitive and "automatic" as, for example, on an iPhone. So let's see together in this guide how you can connect AirPods to Apple TV and how to set them up as an output device.

How to connect AirPods to Apple TV

If you want to connect AirPods to your Apple TV, then first turn on the apple tv and then move to the native app Settings. Once you've done that, select an option from the menu Drivers and Devices, where you move down to the section Bluetooth. Now it is necessary for you to get your hands on yours AirPods a opened their lid (AirPods it must be inside). Then hold for a few seconds pairing button na case back, until the diode changes color to white color and won't start throb. After a few seconds, your name should appear in the Apple TV environment AirPods. So move the controller over them and confirm pairing. This has successfully paired your AirPods with Apple TV, but please note that this has not set the AirPods as an output device. So the AirPods are connected, but the sound may not automatically be transferred to them.

To set AirPods as an output device, go back to the native app on your Apple TV with AirPods connected Settings. Once done, unclick the box Video and audio. After that, go down for something below to the section Audio, where you click the box Sound output. Here, all you have to do is hover over the name of your AirPods again and tap them, which will make the AirPods active for audio output.
