Like other Apple products, the Apple Watch is very susceptible to possible damage. If you are among the people who never leave home without an Apple Watch, and you have trouble finding time to charge your watch during the day, then you belong to the most risky group. Seasoned Apple Watch users probably already know how to best protect it. But if you feel that you could get the Apple Watch under the tree today, then you should find out how you can actually protect it so that it lasts as long as possible. We will look at exactly that together in this article.

A protective glass or foil is mandatory

From my own experience, I can confirm that in the case of Apple Watch protection, it is absolutely mandatory to use a protective glass or film. It is necessary to think about the fact that you carry the Apple Watch with you practically everywhere, and some of us even sleep with it. During the whole day, several different traps can come up, during which you can scratch the Apple Watch display. One of the biggest problems comes if you have metal door frames at home - I bet you'll manage to snag them with your watch within the first few days. In the best case, only the body will suffer a scratch, in the worst case, you will find a scratch on the display. You can really be clever and considerate as much as you can be - there is a high probability that this will happen sooner or later. Of course, there are countless tricks for the Apple Watch. In addition to the door frames mentioned above, you may find yourself in a situation where, for example, you put your watch in a locker in the dressing room, then forget about it and drop it on the floor when you change your clothes.

In order to prevent any damage, you should apply protective glass or foil to your Apple Watch as soon as possible. In this case, you have several different solutions at your disposal. As far as protective glass, so I can recommend it from PanzerGlass. The aforementioned protective glass has the advantage of being rounded at the edges, so it perfectly surrounds the entire display of the watch. In any case, the disadvantage is a rather complex application, which not every user can necessarily master. In addition, I encountered a slightly worse display response. With tempered glass, however, you can be sure that you will not (most likely) damage the watch display. If you glue the glass really precisely, you will hardly be able to tell the difference between the glass and the watch without it. Bubbles may appear during application, which in any case will disappear automatically within a few days - so do not try to cover the glass unnecessarily.

If you don't want to reach for the protective glass, for example because of the higher price or because of the complex application, then I have a great option for you in the form of foil. Such foil is much cheaper than glass and can perfectly protect the watch against scratches. From my own experience, I can then recommend foil Spigen Neo Flex. In any case, it is definitely not an ordinary foil, on the contrary, it is somewhat rougher than the classic ones and has a different structure. You will be pleased above all with the price, and there are exactly three pieces of foil in the package, so you can easily replace it at any time. As for the application, it is very simple - in the package you will receive a special solution that you spray on the display of the watch, which gives you a long time for precise application. After a short time, the foil adheres perfectly and you practically do not recognize it on the watch, neither visually nor by touch. In addition to the above-mentioned foil, you can also reach for some ordinary ones, for example from Screenshield.

You can also reach for the packaging for the body of the watch

As I mentioned above, the absolute basis for the Apple Watch is screen protection. If you want anyway, you can also reach for the packaging on the body of the watch itself. Available protective covers for Apple Watch can be classified into three categories. In the first category you will find classics transparent silicone covers, into which you simply insert the watch. Thanks to the silicone cover, you get great protection for the entire body of the watch, which is also not expensive at all. Most of these silicone cases protect the chassis itself, but some cases also extend over the display, so the watch is fully protected. He belongs to the second group similar packaging, which are, however, made of a different material, for example polycarbonate or aluminum. Of course, these covers no longer interfere with the surface of the display. The advantage is thinness, elegance and a favorable price. In addition to ordinary packaging, you can also go for the one that is made of aramid – it is specifically produced by PITAKA.

The third group includes cases that are robust and will protect your watch from practically anything. If you've ever looked at some robust cases, not just for the Apple Watch, then I'm sure you haven't missed the brand UAG, as the case may be spigen. It is this company that, among other things, takes care of the production of durable covers, for example for the iPhone, Mac, but also the Apple Watch. Of course, such cases are not at all elegant, in any case, they can protect your new Apple Watch from everything. So, if you are going somewhere where the watch could be damaged, but you still want to use it, then such a robust case could be useful for you.

Be careful where you take your watch

All Apple Watch Series 2 and later are waterproof to 50 meters according to ISO 22810:2010. So you can easily take the Apple Watch into the pool or even into the shower. In any case, it should be noted that various shower gels and other preparations can impair the waterproofness - in particular, the adhesive layer may be impaired. Among other things, you should choose the right strap for the water. It should be noted that, for example, straps with a classic buckle, leather straps, straps with a modern buckle, Milanese pulls and link pulls are not waterproof and may sooner or later be damaged in contact with water.
