Does it handle converting to epub as well as OpenOffice or Word? or something else besides stanza that runs under Windows and doesn't cut the document so disgustingly from most of the formatting? :)
I use Caliber on a Mac (http://calibre-ebook.com/) is free and also has versions for Linux and Widle. It can convert between formats directly into the device, etc. And it is constantly updated, so the project is definitely not sleeping :-). I found it before Apple added exporting to Pages. Oh, and InDesign CS5 can also save to epub. True, it is not completely free.
That's right, I would add that a graphic/photo can also be placed in the file in Pages, but be careful about the choice of these FLOATING objects vs. INLINE. The title can be chosen either from the first page of the book or in iTunes as COVER. Thanks for the video and popularizing Pages!
What program do you use to record the desktop to video?
Qwerts: unfortunately I don't know of anything suitable for Windows. I don't use Windows so I can't help.
Becher: thanks for the positive rating, I use the ScreenFlow program for filming. It is a paid app and costs $99.
Thanks so much for ScreenFlow. The hundred bucks is not much at all, for what the program can do. We were looking for something like this on Wokna, but it was impossible to grab a FULL HD screen at 30fps to make it look useful. It runs like clockwork on my iMac 22″. Thx
Hi, I wanted to ask if it is possible to convert e-books in .pdf format this way? With PDFs, I miss the possibility of notes, which only e-books have.
Thanks a lot for the advice!
Well, you won't be able to do it from Pages, because the PDF won't open in Pages. The only thing I can't think of, but it's a bit of a pain in the ass. It is to wipe the book in PDF in Adobe reader, save it as text and then open the text in Pages, and then the procedure is the same. I can't think of anything else
Saving to epub works great. Unfortunately Pages epub won't open for further editing :-(
