Even if it doesn't seem like it at first, after thinking about it, we find out that we can really spend a lot of time on the Internet and websites. Among the biggest so-called "time wasters" are social networks, on which we can easily spend several hours a day, both on an iPhone or iPad, and on a Mac. A few years ago, Apple came up with a function that allows us to set limits for certain activities - for example, for the time spent in an application or on the website. So, with the help of these tools, you can easily avoid spending a lot of time on some sites.

How to Set Web Browsing Restrictions on Mac

There is nothing easier than setting a time limit, thanks to which you will only be able to navigate on the selected page for a few predetermined minutes or hours. The procedure is as follows:

  • First, you need to tap on the Mac in the upper left corner of the screen icon .
  • Once you do so, select from the menu that appears System Preferences…
  • This will open a new window showing all the sections for managing preferences.
  • Now find the section in this window Screen time, which you tap.
  • After that, you need to find a box in the left part of the window Application limits, which you click.
  • If you don't have limits for applications turned on, just press the button in the upper right Turn on…
  • After turning on, click on the small one under the main table the + icon to add a limit.
  • Another window will open, in which scroll all the way down to the section Website.
  • Inline Webove stránky click on the small one on the left arrow icon.
  • Now you are search for websites for which you want to set a limit, and check the box next to them.
    • If necessary, it is possible to use search in the upper right corner of the window.
  • After checking the website you see below in the window set a time limit.
    • You can choose a time limit for daily, or own, where you set your limit especially for days.
  • Once you have selected the time limit, click on at the bottom right done thereby creating a limit.

So, using the above procedure, you can set restrictions on access to selected websites on your Mac. However, keep in mind that some social networks also have applications for which limits must be set separately. However, it is nothing complicated and the procedure is similar - you only need to select applications or groups of applications in the window instead of web pages. At the same time, it is necessary to mention that limits for websites only work for Safari and not for other web browsers.
