Do you know how much active time you spend on your phone? Maybe you're just guessing. However, Screen Time on iPhone is a feature that displays information about your device usage, including which apps and websites you're on most often. It also allows the setting of limits and various restrictions, which is especially useful for parents.  

The telephone is, of course, a device primarily intended for communication. But sometimes it's too much, and sometimes you just want to not be disturbed by the world around you. You can turn off your iPhone, you can turn it on Airplane mode, activate Do Not Disturb mode, with iOS 15 also Focus mode or define Screen Time. In it, phone and FaceTime calls, messages and the use of maps are enabled by default, other applications are blocked so as not to disturb you.

Content and privacy restrictions 

However, if necessary, you can also block inappropriate content and set restrictions, especially for purchases in the iTunes Store and App Store. Of course, not so much for yourself, but rather for your children. You can set up Screen Time for a family member directly on their device, or if you've set up Family Sharing, you can set up Screen Time for individual family members through Family Sharing on your device. 

  • Go to Settings. 
  • Open the menu Screen time. 
  • Choose Content and privacy restrictions. 
  • Enable the option at the top Content and privacy restrictions. 

You can then click on the given items and assign them the given values. E.g. for purchases, you can disable app installations, or just disable their microtransactions. IN Content Restrictions but you can disable, for example, music videos, block certain web content, or limit multiplayer games within the Game Center platform. Furthermore, you can manage location services, contacts, photos, location sharing, and much more, such as access to device code, account, mobile data, etc.
