The introduction of new operating systems in the form of iOS and iPadOS 15, macOS 12 Monterey, watchOS 8 and tvOS 15 took place several long months ago. Specifically, we were able to attend this year's developer conference WWDC, where Apple traditionally presents the new major versions of its systems every year. Since then, it has been possible to get early access to these operating systems, i.e. if you rank among developers or testers. However, a few months ago, Apple also finally released the first public versions of the systems, in addition to macOS 12 Monterey, which we will still have to wait for. We're always working on all the features and improvements at our magazine - and this article will be no exception. We will look specifically at the new option in iOS 15.

How to hide desktop notification badges on iPhone after activating Focus

One of the best new features is without a doubt the Focus modes. These have replaced the original Do Not Disturb mode and offer many more options for personalization and editing preferences. Specifically, in each mode you can separately set, for example, which applications will be able to send you notifications, or which contacts will be able to call you. But that's definitely not all, as there are other options available, thanks to which it is possible to hide certain pages on the desktop, or you can let other contacts see a notification in Messages that informs them that you have the Focus mode active. Apart from that, it is also possible to hide the notification badges on the desktop as follows:

  • First, move to a native app in iOS 15 Settings.
  • Once you do, get off below and click the section Concentration.
  • After that you select mode with whom you want to work.
  • Next, after selecting the mode, get down to the category Elections.
  • Click on the section named here Flat.
  • Finally, you just need to use the switch activated possibility Hide notification badges.

So, using the above procedure, one can hide the notification badges on the desktop in iOS 15. These are numbers with a red background, located in the upper right part of the application icon. These numbers indicate how many notifications are waiting for you in a particular app. If you need to focus, the option to hide notification badges is absolutely great. It often happens that after noticing the notification badge you go to the application under the pretext of checking the notification, but in reality it usually happens that you spend several long minutes in the application, during which you could have worked or studied, for example. Of course, this most often happens with communication applications and social networks.
