It is important that your iPhone has iOS 7 or later, your iPad has iPadOS 13 or later, and your Mac has OS X 10.9 or later.

How to set up Keychain on iCloud on iPhone

When you start the device for the first time, it directly informs you about the possibility of activating the key fob. However, if you skipped this option, you can activate it additionally:

  • Go to the native app Settings. 
  • At the top, then tap on your profile.
  • Then click on the box iCloud.
  • Once you've done that, tap on Key ring.
  • Here you can already activate the offer Keychain on iCloud.
  • Subsequently, it is necessary to proceed according to how the iPhone informs you about the individual steps on its display.

When creating a keychain, be sure to also create a security code for iCloud. You can then use it to authorize the function on other devices on which you want to use your key fob. It also serves as authentication, so it allows you to restore the keychain if necessary, if your device is damaged, for example. Thanks to Apple's ecosystem, it's relatively easy to turn on the keychain on other devices you own. When you turn it on on one, all the others will receive a notification asking for approval. This allows you to approve the new device very easily and the key fob will automatically start updating on it.
