iCloud is an Apple cloud service that is primarily used to back up all your data. If you put some data on iCloud, you can also easily access it from anywhere - you just need to be connected to the Internet. Apple offers a total of 5GB of free iCloud storage to all individuals who set up an Apple ID, which isn't exactly a lot. There are then a total of three paid tariffs available, namely 50 GB, 200 GB and 2 TB. If you want to keep all your data safe, it is definitely worth investing in a monthly iCloud subscription. It is definitely worth the price of one coffee or pack of cigarettes.

How to easily free up gigabytes of iCloud space on iPhone

Of course, Apple has calculated all its tariffs very well. You can very easily find yourself in a situation where you purchase one of the tariffs, and after using it for a while you find out that it is not enough for you. But in reality, all you need is a little more space. At such a crossroads, you can make two decisions - either you buy a larger plan, which will be too big and expensive for you, or you free up space on iCloud. Together, we have already shown many tips on how to clear space on iCloud in several articles. But there is one tip that deserves to be highlighted, because with it you can free up several gigabytes of space on iCloud with just a few taps. The procedure is as follows:

  • First, you need to go to the native app on your iPhone Settings.
  • Once you do so, open at the top of the screen your profile.
  • Subsequently, a bit below locate and tap the box iCloud.
  • Another screen will open, click below the usage graph Manage storage.
  • On the next page, locate the section below Advances, which you open.
  • This will show all your iCloud backups, probably including old ones from devices you no longer use or have.
  • So click on it unnecessary backup, which you can afford to delete.
  • Then just tap on Delete backup and simply confirm the action.

So, using the above procedure, it is possible to free up iCloud space on your iPhone easily. I personally decided to delete the backup from the iPhone I had a few months back for review. This backup totaled 6,1 GB, which is a lot for iCloud's smaller plans. If you ever had an older device with iCloud backup turned on in the past, the backup will still be there and you can delete it. In the event that deleting the backup did not help you, or if you cannot delete any backup, it will be necessary to purchase a larger iCloud plan, in Settings → your profile → iCloud → Manage storage → Change storage plan.
