Practically since the beginning of time, it has been said that Apple users are willing to spend far more on apps than Android users. According to the latest information from the portal finbold it's probably true too. Their latest study revealed that customers spent $41,5 billion on the App Store in the first half of this year alone. This is almost twice as much as was spent on the rival Play Store, where people left $23,4 billion.

The value of money spent on the App Store thus represents a 22,05% year-on-year increase, but the increase on both platforms was also highly satisfactory, as it amounted to 24,8%. A total of $64,9 billion was spent. Of course, these purchases do not only represent the applications themselves, but also include subscriptions and purchases within individual apps that offer this option. Although at first glance it seems that the App Store is miles ahead in this direction, the growth of the Play Store itself must also be taken into account. It was a great 30% year-on-year.

iPhone 13 Pro stats and render released:

Within the App Store and the Play Store, the sector with games was able to maintain its dominant position, on which customers left 10,3 billion dollars in just the first half of this year (together for both platforms). Subsequently, the survey also pointed to three applications with the largest sales, which probably won't surprise anyone. TikTok took the top spot with $920 million, followed by YouTube with $564,7 million and Tinder just behind at $520,3 million. The interesting thing is that the first three bars were occupied by applications that are practically completely free. However, income from advertisements and promoted posts, or subscriptions, which you may know from Tinder and YouTube, are included in the study.

Finbold adds an interesting thought at the end. The mentioned numbers should increase even more in the coming years, for which the games sector will be primarily responsible. How are you doing? Do you buy/subscribe to some applications, or do you make purchases within mobile games, or do you always make do with free programs/versions?
