Microsoft Office is ready for the arrival of MacBook Pro with Touch Bar (October 28.10)

On Thursday, new MacBook Pros were introduced with a touchscreen replacing the top row of function keys. Its main currency is supposed to be adaptability, which Phil Schiller demonstrated on stage, among other things, on Microsoft Office applications.

Microsoft later on your blog published a post with more information. For example, Word will be much more adapted to work in full-screen mode - only the document being created will be on the display, and the tools for editing the formatting text will appear in the Touch Bar. A similar concept will be offered by PowerPoint, but it will also use the Touch Bar to display a "graphic map" of the layers of individual slides.

For Excel users, the Touch Bar should make it easier to insert frequently used functions, and for Outlook users to attach attachments to e-mails or work with the clipboard. It also displays, for example, a brief overview of upcoming events in the calendar without having to work with the main application window.

Photoshop should be right at home on the new MacBook Pros (October 27.10)

Adobe is also trying to demonstrate how great the Touch Bar is. "MacBook Pro and Photoshop are like creatures to each other," an Adobe representative said at Thursday's presentation. He demonstrated Photoshop in collaboration with the new MacBook Pro control element. For example, it displays some sliders that do not take up space on the display and the user can work with the trackpad with one hand and the Touch Bar with the other.

The touch panel at the top of the keyboard will also be able to display a version history that can be easily swiped through.

Vine ends (October 27.10)

Vine, a social network based on the creation and sharing of six-second videos, was launched in 2012 by Twitter and was supposed to be a kind of visual analogue of text-based Twitter. It became quite popular, but never in the way Twitter imagined. This gradually slowed down its development and reduced investment in it, until now Twitter decided to cancel Vine.

No exact date has been set yet, the mobile app is slated to end in the "next months". Twitter has promised that, at least for the time being, all videos will remain stored on its servers and will be available for viewing and downloading.

1Password has shown suggestions for using the Touch Bar and Touch ID on the new MacBook Pros

In addition to compatibility, performance and work efficiency, this year's MacBook Pros are also expected to improve security. They have Touch ID, a fingerprint reader, right next to the Touch Bar. 1Password also immediately included its functionality in its workflow, and of course the Touch Bar was not left out either.

For now, these are still initial designs and will likely change before the release of a new version of 1Password (and new MacBook Pros), but users can look forward to many controls available directly on the keyboard. From the Touch Bar, you could, for example, browse between keychains, create new passwords and manage existing ones.

New applications

Apple has launched the TV app, a one-stop shop for all content on Apple TV

The new TV application, which Apple introduced during its October keynote, is conceptually very simple: it combines movies, series and other TV content directly into a single application. The user will be able to access his favorite images at any time without having to visit special applications of other services.

Continuity between iPhone or iPad is also useful, when it is possible to watch a movie or series on Apple TV and continue on the mobile device. The TV application can recognize, for example, whether a new episode of the selected series has been released and automatically suggests it to start. Unfortunately, Netflix will not be integrated into the TV application, moreover, it will arrive only in December and for now only for American users.

Duet Display turns iPad Pro into a professional graphics tool

The Duet Display application is the ideal element for any user who needs to expand their workstation with an external monitor. It enables the iPad to be connected to a computer. But the most interesting thing is the Apple Pencil support for the Duet Display Pro version, with which it is possible to draw something on the iPad Pro and project it on the computer display, whether it is running on macOS or Windows. Drawing is even more accurate within this interface with better color gamut.

Duet Display can be purchased on the App Store for 10 euros (approx. 270 crowns).
