Apple has patented a way to catch thieves thanks to Touch ID (August 25)

Apple is constantly trying to improve the security of its devices. He recently patented a technology that would be able to store the fingerprints and photo of a person who would try to unlock the device without authorization. The patent itself is titled as “Biometric capture for unauthorized user identification". Devices should then work with Touch ID, the camera and other sensors. Thanks to this, information about a potential thief should be stored in the iPhone or iPad. The process is exactly the same as when unlocking an iPhone normally. The data is then either stored directly in the device's memory or automatically sent to remote servers. Apple has also thought of storage, and if it evaluates the data as unnecessary or no longer needed, it will immediately delete it.

Apple also describes in the patent that thanks to this technology it would also be possible to find out what the given thief wanted to do with the device, i.e. which part of the system he wanted to access. The evaluated data could logically be compared with each other.
