Another drone over campus, the iPhone SE in a durability test, Tim Cook on the board of President Kennedy's organization and the new Apple Watch…

A drone flew over the Apple campus again (April 3)

Last week's video showed the progress of the new Apple Campus 2 over the past few weeks. Back in September, mostly the foundations of the building were visible, now solar panels and giant glass windows are being installed on the completed building. The construction is going exactly according to plan and the new workplace should be opened by the end of this year. In the video, you can see most parts of the new campus, including the auditorium where Apple will hold its keynotes.

iPhone SE subjected to durability tests (4/4)

SquareTrade conducted several tests on the iPhone SE to test its durability. As it turns out, the smallest iPhone is the least durable of all the Apple phones tested.

The iPhone SE broke at 70kg, while the iPhone 6S Plus only started to bend at 80kg. Then, when the SE model was submerged in water to a depth of 1,5 meters, the phone turned off after a minute and stopped working. An impressive result came from the iPhone 6S, which lasted a full 30 minutes under water and only the audio did not work when it was pulled out.

Falling on a corner, all the phones suffered the same, as the display glass broke on all of them. After ten drops, the iPhone SE split, while the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus suffered only minor damage.

Ex-Apple employees start a venture capital fund with the memory of NeXT (5/4)

Former Apple CFO Fred Anderson (pictured top left) and software chief Avie Tevanian (pictured top right) along with other colleagues founded a venture capital fund called NextEquity, the name of which is a reference to Jobs' first company (NeXT), in which Tevanian worked. Both men have investment experience and, according to Tevanian, the fund has already started several investments. It is not certain whether NextEquity will focus only on projects in the field of computer technology, or if it will invest in companies from various fields. Similarly, the former head of iOS Scott Forstall, who himself produced a successful play on Broadway, started investing.

Tim Cook will sit on the board of the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights organization (6/4)

Apple CEO Tim Cook will join the board of directors of the Robert F. Kennedy Foundation for Human Rights. Cook said he was inspired as a young man by President Kennedy, whose belief in the good of every person was fascinating. Last year, the Apple boss received an award from the same organization for his work as a human rights leader, so his position on the board alongside Kennedy's daughter Kerry and other members from various industries only deepens that collaboration. "Tim recognizes the importance of fighting for people whose voices are not being heard," said Kerry Kennedy.

New and thinner Apple Watch could appear already at WWDC (April 8)

According to the comments of an employee of the brokerage company Drexel Hamilton, who visited the Apple factories in China last week, we could expect the new Apple Watch already during the WWDC conference in June. The watch should then be 20 to 30 percent thinner than the current version.

Apple dropped the price of the Apple Watch last month, which could be in preparation for the release of a new version. The Californian company doesn't usually introduce new hardware during WWDC, but the watch is approaching its one-year anniversary, so it's almost time for Apple to come out with an updated version.
