Michael Jurewitz, who acted as the company's main face in contact with third-party developers, is leaving Apple after seven years. He often spoke at so-called Tech Talks around the world and also participated in WWDC every year, where he met developers from all corners of our country. Now Jurewitz has announced that he is leaving for Black Pixel, the maker of apps like NetNewsWire or Kaleidoscope. At Black Pixel, Jurewitz will serve as a director and partner.

Jurewitz said in a farewell letter to colleagues that he was not letting go of Apple easily. He had wanted to work in Cupertino since his childhood, so joining the company in 2005 was a dream come true and at that moment the happiest day of his life.

“To all my colleagues at Apple - I hope you're all equally proud of what we've created. Apple is the best company in the world because of you. (…) The wisdom to care about what really matters, the courage to keep moving forward and the patience to do things right. Your work has touched countless lives and changed the world. I look forward to what comes next. You are truly extraordinary,” reads part of Jurewitz's letter.

Apple is being sued in China over the Snow Leopard name (2/7)

Apple just dealt with one in China a problem, he is threatened with another. This time, the chemical company Jiangsu Xuebao wants to sue him over the name Snow Leopard. The Chinese have owned it for the past ten years and brand many of their products with it. Although Apple is no longer actively selling this title when Lion is being sold instead of OS X Snow Leopard, Jiangsu Xuebao still sent a request to the Shanghai court for an investigation. According to the Chinese company, Apple is infringing its trademark and wants 80 dollars (about 1,7 million crowns) and an official apology from Cupertino as compensation. Moreover, Jiangsu Xuebao does not end there - it also intends to sue the Chinese companies that promoted or sold the Snow Leopard operating system.

Although the chemist in China actually owns the Snow Leopard trademark, experts are of the opinion that she has little chance of winning this dispute.

With its extensive database of movies and books, Amazon's mobile could be a competitor to the iTunes Store and iBookstore on iPhones.

The new phone from Amazon could be inspired by the relatively successful seven-inch Kindle Fire tablet, on which the Washington company demonstrated that it can produce a similar device.
