Apple this week announced the date of the traditional Christmas break for the iTunes Connect developer platform. The break will last for eight days, from December 22 to 29. During this time, developers will not be able to submit new apps or updates to existing apps for approval.

The good news for developers is that they will be able to schedule the release of their apps and updates around the Christmas break. In such a case, however, it is necessary that their applications have already been approved before Christmas. The Christmas shutdown will otherwise not affect the iTunes Connect developer interface, so app creators will have no problem accessing, for example, analytical data associated with their software production.

In connection with the announcement, Apple did not forget to recap the latest achievements of its application store. 100 billion apps have already been downloaded from the App Store. Year-over-year, App Store revenue grew 25 percent and paying customers increased 18 percent, setting another record. Already in January, Apple announced that the App Store earned developers more than $2014 billion in 10. So, given the increase in store revenue and the higher number of paying users, it is clear that developers will earn even more this year.
