Part of the recently released iOS 13.1 is a new function that can alert iPhone 11, 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max owners if a non-original display is installed at the service. Apple drew attention to this fact in support document. In this document, he also explained to users that they should only look for service providers whose technicians have been fully trained by Apple and use original Apple parts.

In some cases, the price of original parts can be a problem, which is why both customers and some services sometimes prefer non-branded parts. However, the use of non-original parts can cause problems with multi-touch, display brightness or color display.

Owners of new iPhones will find out the originality of the iPhone display in Settings -> In general -> Information.

The feature will (yet?) only be available for this year's iPhone models. The aforementioned support document states that a non-genuine display warning will appear on the lock screen during the first four days of detection. After that, this warning will also appear in Settings for a period of fifteen days.

In recent years, Apple has been repeatedly criticized for unfairly restricting who can and cannot repair its devices. Last month, the company announced that it could make it easier for independent service providers to repair Apple devices by providing Apple-approved spare parts, tools, training or manuals and diagnostics.
