New iPhones are always designed to surpass their predecessors in many ways. Some changes Apple implements forcefully - for example, the removal of the 3,5 mm jack on the iPhone 7 or the introduction of a dual rear camera - others occur rather subtly. Either way, Apple always makes sure that owners of new models can be sure that they have the best iPhone ever in their hands.

This year is especially marked by the largest, most advanced and most equipped iPhone model – the 6,5-inch XS Max with Super Retina OLED display. The latest flagship among apple smartphones boasts a number of advanced technologies, and compared to its predecessor, it also comes with a number of other improvements, one of which is the increased quality of sound playback.

Improved audio playback is usually not one of the main reasons to buy a new smartphone, but it cannot be said that audio quality does not matter to users. And Apple wants to provide users with the best possible video and audio experience. If you are one of the lucky ones who bought an iPhone XS Max, you may have already noticed that it does not resemble its predecessor in the least in terms of sound or volume. Its distinctive, rich, well-balanced sound reproduction deserves special attention.

A new feature that Apple particularly emphasizes on the iPhone XS Max is the so-called Wider Stereo Playback. This is essentially a significant improvement to the stereo speaker system. The Mashable website notes in its review that the difference between the lower and upper speakers is noticeably noticeable on the iPhone XS Max, and the sound quality as such has also improved significantly.

Video published by the magazine Apple Insider captures the difference in sound production between the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and the iPhone XS Max. The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is equipped with Dolby Atmos, while the XS Max does not have any other added built-in effects. In testing, Apple Insider notes that the iPhone XS Max sounds significantly louder with brighter highs compared to the Note 9, with an improvement in bass, while the Samsung Note 9 sounds "a bit flat," according to the magazine's editor.
