In the last few weeks, information about the problem that some iPhone X owners are facing is starting to multiply on the web. As can be read on several Internet forums, be it reddit or official internet forum support from Apple, users are troubled by the impossibility of receiving an incoming call, because the phone's screen does not light up when it rings and it is impossible to handle it in any way. The problem is apparently so widespread that it has also been registered with Apple and it is said that they are currently solving it in some way.
The problem with not being able to take an incoming call first appeared in December last year. Since then, there have been mentions of him on the web. Manifestations can be different. For some users, the phone screen does not light up at all, for others it takes 6 to 8 seconds before the screen lights up and an incoming call can be answered. On the official Apple forums, they advise affected users of all possible methods that could eliminate this behavior. However, as it turned out, none of them have a long-term effect.
A complete device reset solves this problem, but only temporarily, as the unresponsive display will reappear in a few days. It is not even clear whether it is a software or hardware error. Some users have had this problem even on a brand new, exchanged phone. This error could also be related to a problem with the functioning of the proximity sensor, which in many cases also allegedly does whatever it wants and does not respond to the user's putting the phone away from their face. Apple is currently investigating reports of these issues. However, we do not know any specific solution. Have you also registered problems with the display not turning on or the proximity sensor not responding on your iPhone X?

I have exactly the same problem on SE, when the display does not light up when there is an incoming call, even after pressing the home button, I just have to hang up and call back
I have the same problem on SE for about the last 14 days.
do you both have iOS 11?
11.2.5
thanks, just like this to make sure that iOS 11 is still a shunt and it's better to keep my 3pcs devices on iOS 10.
11.1
also thanks for the response
It probably has something to do with the unsolicited and invisible activation of the "do not disturb" mode. I turned the mod on, off, it worked for a while and then it didn't, and the mod appears to be off. What to expect from a moron who decides that the "turn off wifi/bluetooth" button will not turn off wifi/bluetooth.
I have another problem. If I make a call and have the phone to my ear and the other party does not pick up, I cannot end the call. I have a black screen that doesn't respond. Only pressing the main button and volume will help
I have one more annoying problem with the iP SE: I can't unlock the phone with (touch screen) gloves. Pressing the Home button will do nothing, the password dial will not appear. When I press the Hime button with my finger inserted for Touch ID, everything is ok.
Yeah, I solved that by turning on the phone with my nose in gloves :D
did you put your nose print on Touch ID? :D
No, but in order to enter the password at all, I had to touch the phone with my nose :D
Yeah, that's what I came to too, but I don't understand it, the iP SE still has the good old mechanical click home button after all. I can also try to add fingerprint gloves :)
I have the same problem on my iPhone 7 plus. About since iOS 11. Currently the problem persists on iOS 11.2.5
I'm exactly the same with the i7+
