We are still more than six months away from the introduction of the new generation iPhone 15 (Pro). Even so, a number of leaks and speculations are spreading in apple-growing circles, which reveal possible changes and hint at what we can actually look forward to. Recently, there have been a lot of reports informing about the deployment of a more powerful Wi-Fi chip. In addition, his arrival has been confirmed by multiple respected sources, and it is also apparent from a newly leaked internal document. However, apple lovers are not exactly twice as excited.

Apple is about to make a rather fundamental difference and plans to use the new Wi-Fi 6E chip, which, by the way, has already been installed in MacBook Pro and iPad Pro, only in the iPhone 15 Pro (Max). Basic models will therefore have to make do with Wi-Fi 6 support. A faster and generally more efficient wireless network will therefore remain the privilege of the more expensive model, which fans are not too happy about.

Why will only the Pro models wait?

As we mentioned above, apple growers are not very happy about the current leaks. Apple is about to take a rather strange and unexpected step. First of all, let's look at the perspective of the apple company. Thanks to the deployment of Wi-Fi 6E only in the Pro models, the giant can both save on costs and, most importantly, prevent possible problems with a lack of components. But this is where any "advantages" end, especially for end users.

So we are waiting for another special difference differentiating the basic models from the Pro versions. In the history of Apple phones, the giant has never made a difference in Wi-Fi, which is absolutely crucial for devices of this type. It is therefore not surprising that apple users express their disapproval and indignation on discussion forums. Apple thus indirectly confirms to us in what direction it wants to continue. The use of older chipsets in the case of the iPhone 14 (Pro) also caused an uproar among fans. While the Pro models received the new Apple A16 Bionic chip, the iPhone 14 (Plus) had to make do with the year-old A15 Bionic. Of course, this year will be no different. It is also worth mentioning why apple growers do not agree with these steps. Apple thus indirectly forces its users to buy the Pro models, mainly because of the "artificial differences". After all, it will be quite interesting to see what new features the basic iPhone 15 (Plus) boasts and how it will subsequently fare in sales.

What is Wi-Fi 6E

Finally, let's take a look at the Wi-Fi 6E standard itself. According to the aforementioned speculations and leaks, only the iPhone 15 Pro (Max) can handle it, while representatives of the basic series will have to make do with the current Wi-Fi 6. At the same time, this is a fairly important shift in the field of wireless connectivity. Thanks to this, the Pro models will be able to use the full potential of newer routers working on Wi-Fi 6E, which are just now starting to spread. But how does it actually differ from its predecessor?

Routers with Wi-Fi 6E can already work in three bands - in addition to the traditional 2,4GHz and 5GHz, it comes with 6GHz. However, in order for the user to actually use the 6 GHz band, he needs a device that supports the Wi-Fi 6E standard. Users with a basic iPhone will simply be out of luck. But now let's focus on the fundamental differences. The Wi-Fi 6E standard brings with it greater bandwidth, which in turn results in better transmission speed, lower latency and higher capacity. It could be said very simply that this is the future in the field of wireless connectivity. That is why it will be strange that a phone from 2023 will not be ready for something like this.
