Apple iPhones have gone through a number of extensive design changes over the course of their existence. If we now put the current iPhone 14 Pro and the first iPhone (sometimes referred to as the iPhone 2G) side by side, we will see huge differences not only in size, but also in overall style and workmanship. In general, the design of Apple phones changes in three-year intervals. The last major change came with the arrival of the iPhone 12 generation. With this series, Apple returned to sharp edges and significantly changed the entire appearance of Apple phones, which it continues to do to this day.

However, a rather interesting discussion is now opening up among apple growers. The iPhone 12 (Pro) was introduced in 2020, and since then we have seen the arrival of the iPhone 13 (Pro) and iPhone 14 (Pro). This means only one thing - if the mentioned three-year cycle is to apply, then next year we will see the iPhone 15 in a completely new form. But now a fundamental question arises. Are apple growers actually worth a change?

Do apple growers want a new design?

When Apple introduced the iPhone 12 (Pro) series, it immediately gained huge popularity, for which it can be grateful mainly to the new design. In short, the sharp edges of the apple-pickers score points. In general, it can be said that this is a far more popular style than what the giant used in the iPhone X, XS/XR and iPhone 11 (Pro), which instead offered a body with rounded edges. At the same time, Apple has finally come up with ideal sizes. Just a few years ago, the diagonal of the display changed quite often, which some fans perceive as (not only) the giant looking for the ideal size. This applies to virtually all phone manufacturers on the market. Currently, the sizes (diagonal displays) of common models have more or less stabilized at around 6″.

This is where the fundamental question lies. What design changes could Apple bring this time? Some fans may be apprehensive about the potential shift. As we mentioned above, the current form of Apple phones is a great success, and therefore it is appropriate to think about whether a change is actually needed. In reality, however, Apple does not have to change the body of the phone at all, and can, on the contrary, come up with minor changes that are nevertheless quite fundamental. Currently, there is talk of deploying Dynamic Island on the entire expected line, i.e. also on the basic models, which will actually finally rid us of the long-criticized cut-out. At the same time, there were speculations that the giant could remove the mechanical side buttons (for volume control and power on). Apparently, this could be replaced by fixed buttons, which would react in the same way as the Home button, for example, on the iPhone SE, where it only simulates a press using the Taptic Engine vibration motor.

What the iPhone 15 (Pro) will look like

Due to the popularity of the current design, it is quite likely that the traditional change resulting from the three-year cycle will not take place. In addition, the vast majority of speculations and leaks work with the same theory. According to them, Apple will stick to the captured form for some time and only modify individual elements where the change is necessary in some way. In this case, it is primarily the mentioned upper cutout (notch). How do you view the design of the iPhone? Are you more comfortable with a body with rounded or sharp edges? Alternatively, what changes would you most like to see in the upcoming iPhone 15 series?
