In addition to the traditional weekly summaries of speculations, on the website of Jablíčkára we will also bring you an overview of the news we have so far about individual upcoming products. We'll be the first to take a look at this year's iPhones. What has been said and written about them so far?

We are now just over a month away from the introduction of the iPhone 13. Most sources agree that the display sizes of this year's models should be 5,4, 6,1 and 6,7 inches, and there should be two "Pro" models on offer. There is no speculation about significant changes in terms of design yet, as with every new model, we can certainly look forward to improvements to the cameras on both sides. There is also talk of increasing battery life or reducing the cutout at the top of the iPhone display, while some components for Face ID should replace glass with plastic. Initially, there were also speculations that the iPhone 13 should not have any ports and rely purely on wireless charging, but these conjectures were almost immediately refuted by a number of analysts led by Ming-Chi Kue, and the replacement of the Lightning port with a USB-C port is also unlikely .

According to some sources, the high-end versions of this year's iPhones could offer displays with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and ProMotion technology, and similar to some previous models, there is also speculation about the possible location of the fingerprint sensor under the smartphone's display. Among the less common ones is speculation that this year's iPhones should not bear the numerical designation 13, but that Apple should give them other names, similar to what it did with the iPhone X, XS and XR.

We can forget about the "mini" version of the iPhone, but in the future we could expect the arrival of the third generation of the popular iPhone SE. This year's iPhones should be equipped with stronger magnets, certain changes should also occur in terms of color and finish, which should be more matte than previous generations. Some reports also say that Apple should say goodbye to space gray and replace it with matte black. Relatively recently, there have also been reports of a brand new shade with an orange-bronze hue. In connection with this year's iPhones, there is also speculation about the possibility of an Always-On display, and 5G connectivity and an A15 Bionic processor are a matter of course.

iPhone 13 always on

Other speculations related to the iPhone 13 include mentions of support for 25W charging, storage of up to 1 TB (but even here, analysts clearly disagree), and even reverse charging, which could enable wireless charging of AirPods or Apple Watch after laying on the back of the iPhone 13. As for the release date, practically all sources agree on September, which has been the traditional month for the introduction of new smartphones for Apple (with the exception of last year) for many years. On the other hand, due to the current circumstances, it could happen that there will be a one-month delay.
