iPhone 13 is almost at the door. We are less than three months away from its introduction, and the discussion about the upcoming news is understandably starting to escalate. In general, there is talk of a reduction in the top cutout, a better camera and the arrival of a LiDAR sensor even on basic models. But as it turns out recently, with the LiDAR sensor, it may be completely different in the final.

How the LiDAR sensor works:

Already in January of this year, the DigiTimes portal made itself heard, which was the first to come up with the claim that the mentioned novelty will arrive on all four expected models. For now, however, this sensor can only be found on the iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max. In addition, it would not be the first time that Apple decided to first introduce the novelty to the Pro models and then provide it to the basic versions, which is why the claim seemed credible at first. But two months later, respected analyst Ming-Chi Kuo came up with a different opinion, claiming that the technology would remain exclusive to the Pro models. Subsequently, he was further supported by two investors from Barclays.

To make the situation even more ambiguous, well-known analyst Daniel Ives from Wedbush intervened in the whole situation, who claimed twice this year that all models will receive the LiDAR sensor. The latest information now comes from a fairly well-respected leaker who goes by the pseudonym @Dylandkt. Despite earlier leaks and predictions, they are siding with Kuo, saying that only owners of the iPhone 13 Pro (Max) and older 12 Pro (Max) will enjoy the capabilities of the LiDAR sensor.

Whether the entry-level models will also receive this sensor is still unclear for the time being, and we will have to wait for the answer until September, when the new line of Apple phones will be revealed. However, there is a greater chance of the arrival of a sensor for optical image stabilization. It can take care of up to 5 movements per second and thus compensate for hand tremors. For now, we can only find it in the iPhone 12 Pro Max, but there has been talk of it coming to all iPhone 13 models for a long time.
