Pavel Jelic It's been a few hours since we saw the presentation of the new "twelves" at the October conference - specifically, the Californian giant came up with the iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max. This mentioned quartet of new Apple phones has a much more powerful, but at the same time much more economical, A14 Bionic processor - in particular, Apple states that it is up to 50% more powerful than its predecessor. So, most of us certainly expected the new iPhones to be better in terms of endurance compared to their predecessors - but the opposite is true.

David Hanak If you go to the Apple.cz website, open the comparison tool and compare the current flagships with last year's Apple phones, you will find quite interesting information. The battery life of the new iPhone 12 is the same as last year's iPhone 11, and in some cases even worse. If we compare the iPhone 12 Pro Max with the iPhone 11 Pro Max, the duration of one charge is identical for both devices - 20 hours. When comparing the iPhone 12 Pro with the iPhone 11 Pro, the first difference comes in favor of the older 11 Pro. The latter lasts up to 18 hours of video playback on a single charge, while the new 12 Pro "only" lasts 17 hours. If we compare the iPhone 12 with the iPhone 11, then in both cases the endurance for one charge is the same, namely 17 hours. As for the latest iPhone 12 mini, we unfortunately have nothing to compare it to. The smallest of the "twelves" offers 15 hours of video playback per charge.

It is then interesting to compare the 5.4″ iPhone 12 mini with the 6.7″ iPhone 12 Pro Max. In this case, you can really see that the size definitely matters - the smallest flagship has a quarter worse endurance than its huge brother in the form of the iPhone 12 Pro Max. Specifically, to recap, the 12 mini offers fifteen hours of battery life on a single charge, while the largest 12 Pro Max can last up to 20 hours on a single charge. However, as we mentioned in one of the previous articles, Apple no longer offers the iPhone 11 Pro (Max). In addition to the new iPhone 12, the iPhone SE (2020), 11 and XR are available.
