We are less than 12 hours away from the presentation of the new iPhone 24. Under normal circumstances, we could already be holding Apple phones in our hands. However, due to the ongoing global pandemic of the disease COVID-19, there was a significant delay in the supply chain, due to which the traditional September keynote was not devoted to iPhones and their unveiling was thus postponed to October. But what do we as fans expect from the new models? This is exactly what we will address in today's article.

More models, more options

According to various leaks and reports, we should see four models in three different sizes this year. Specifically, they are talking about a 5,4″ version labeled mini, two 6,1″ models and the biggest giant with a 6,7″ display. These models will then be divided into two categories, namely iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro, while the 6,1 and 6,7″ models will be proud of the designation of the more advanced version. Speculations about which version will enter the market first, and which we will have to wait for, will be left aside for today.

In any case, we expect more variety from the new generation. As apple growers, we will get far more options already when choosing the device itself, when we will be able to choose from several options and choose the one that suits us the most. The possibility of choice should be extended even in the case of colors. The Californian giant sticks to "established" color variants for its products, which have simply worked for several years. But the change came with the arrival of the iPhone Xr, which boasted slightly different options, and then a year later with the iPhone 11 model.

The new iPad Air 4th generation is available in five colors:

In addition, information began to appear on the Internet that the iPhone 12 would exactly copy the colors with which the redesigned iPad Air boasted in September. Specifically, it should be space gray, silver, rose gold, azure blue and green.

Quality display

As usual, in recent months we have learned a lot of interesting information about the upcoming iPhone 12 through various leaks and leakers. The displays of the phones themselves were also discussed quite often. If we look at last year's generation, we can find the iPhone 11 and the more advanced Pro version in the menu. We can distinguish them at first glance thanks to the different photo module and the display. While the cheaper variant offered a classic LCD panel, the Pro version boasted a perfect OLED display. And we expect something similar from the new generation, but with a smaller difference. The iPhone 12 should be equipped with the mentioned OLED panel in all its versions, even in the cheaper one.

5G connection support

We already expected 5G connection support from Apple phones last year. Although various information appeared around the iPhone 11, according to which we will have to wait at least until this year's generation for the mentioned 5G, we still kind of believed and hoped. In the end, unfortunately, we didn't make it. According to various reports that literally filled the internet in recent months, our wait should finally be over.

Our opinion is that in 2020, the flagship of any smartphone manufacturer must be ready for the future, which is undoubtedly in the much-vaunted 5G. And if you're concerned that 5G is dangerous to your health and could endanger your life, we recommend you take a look to this video, where you will quickly learn all the necessary information.

Performance

Another tradition in the world of Apple phones is that year after year the limits of performance are pushed at rocket speed. Apple is known in the smartphone world for its advanced processors, which are often far ahead of the competition. And this is exactly what we can expect in the case of the iPhone 12. The Californian giant equips its phones with the same chips, while the performance difference between the standard and Pro versions can only be found in the case of RAM. It can therefore be expected that the apple company will resort to the same step now, and therefore we are already sure that we can look forward to a significant dose of performance.

The Apple A12 Bionic chip, which can also be found in the aforementioned iPad Air, should arrive in the iPhone 14. Last week, we even informed you about the performance of this processor, whose benchmark test was leaked to the Internet. You can see what performance we can expect from the new generation of Apple phones in the article attached above.

Switch to USB-C

Many Apple users would like the new generation to finally boast a universal and highly efficient USB-C port. Although we ourselves would personally see it on the iPhone and would like to finally move on from the now outdated Lightning, which has been with us since 2012, we can probably forget about the transition. Even this year's Apple phones should "boast" Lightning.

Camera

In recent years, new iPhones have often been talked about with regard to their camera. In the case of the cheaper versions of the iPhone 12, we should probably not expect any major shift. The phones will most likely offer the same photo module that last year's iPhone 11 boasted. However, according to various reports, we can expect fairly major software improvements that will push the quality of photos by miles.

Otherwise, the iPhone 12 Pro is already there. It can be expected that it will be equipped with an advanced LiDAR sensor, which can be found, for example, in the iPad Pro, which will again drastically improve photos. The aforementioned LiDAR is used for 3D mapping of space, thanks to which the portrait mode could be improved, for example, and it would even be possible to film in this mode. As for the photo module itself, we can probably expect three lenses here as in the previous generation, but it may boast better specifications. In short, we will have to wait for more detailed information - fortunately not for long.
